Advisory for Large Scale events amidst the COVID-19 Situation
The wellbeing of all attendees at the AWS Summit is of utmost importance to us. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and follow national and international guidance to implement necessary precautionary measures before and during the event. During the event, we will have enhanced housekeeping and refuse management protocols to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness. Medics will also be on standby to attend to those who are feeling unwell. For the wellbeing of all attendees, we request that all registrants who feel unwell refrain from attending the AWS Summit and seek medical attention promptly. We are ready and prepared to implement enhanced measures as required by the authorities, and will provide relevant information leading up to the AWS Summit.
Who should attend Amazon Innovation Day and AWS Summit Sydney 2020?
Amazon Innovation Day (Tue 31 Mar) will suit business decision makers and those interested in transforming their business with cloud technology. AWS Summit Day 1 (Wed 1 Apr) is targeted at IT professionals and IT managers who are getting started with their cloud journey, or interested in learning more before getting started. AWS Summit Day 2 (Thurs 2 Apr) is for IT professionals and developers with an existing level of cloud and/or technology knowledge who are already building on AWS and interested in diving deeper.

What do I need to bring in order to be allowed entry into Amazon Innovation Day and AWS Summit Sydney?
Please ensure that you bring your barcode for your badge collection, which will be sent to you approx 24 hour prior to the event. If you do not have your bacode, please proceed to the registration help desk for assistance. Additionally, all attendees must present a form of government issued ID when collecting their badge. If ID is not provided, event entry may be refused.
What is included in the event registration?
Both Amazon Innovation Day and AWS Summit will feature keynote presentations with global speakers and customer stories. AWS Summit on Wednesday and Thursday will feature over 100 breakout sessions led by AWS experts. On the expo floor you can get hands-on with technology and have your technical questions answered by the AWS team and our partners. Meals offered include morning tea, lunch, and refreshments.
Can I get a confirmation of my AWS Summit registration?
Upon completing the online registration, you will receive an email confirming your registration . Please check your junk mail folder if you do not receive this within 24 hours of registering. You will also be provided with a "Know Before You Go" email approximately one day prior for each respective event you have registered for. These will contain a unique barcode which is required to presented on arrival. Your unique barcode will also be sent to your mobile number on the morning of the event so please make sure to double check your details when completing your registration.
Can I sign up for sessions I want to attend?
You will be able to build your own agenda via the event app to assist you in planning your event experience. This does not guarantee you a seat for the session as rooms will be filled on a first come, first seated basis.
How can I register for the AWS Summit Hands-On Workshops?
If you are AWS certified, click here for registration. If you are not certified, please use the general admissions link. These are paid workshops and will incur a cost of $399 AUD (inc GST) per person per workshop.
What is included with my registration for the AWS Summit Hands-On Workshops?
The AWS Summit Hands-On Workshops run for 3 hours in the Parkside Ballroom in the ICC. Spend a few hours with us getting hands-on experience, guided by AWS experts as you dive head first into the depths of the AWS platform. Attendees will walk away with new skills, a certificate of attendance, and a bespoke SWAG pack.
How much do the AWS Summit Hands-On Workshops cost?
The AWS Summit Hands-On Workshops incur a cost of $399 AUD (inc GST) per person per workshop. We will offer a 10% discount to groups of 10 or more, students, and certified individuals. Full details will be provided when registration opens in late January.
Why have I received an invoice and/or a credit card charge from George P Johnson / GPJ Australia?
George P Johnson is our customer service agent and manages the payment processing services for the hands-on workshops at AWS Summit Sydney.
Can I cancel my workshop registration?
If AWS receives your cancellation notice by 12:00PM (noon) AEDT between 25 January 2020, and 4 March 2020, you will receive a 50 percent refund of your registration fees via the original payment method. If your cancellation notice is received after 12:00PM (noon) AEDT on 4 March 2020, you will not be eligible for a refund.
Can I transfer my workshop registration to someone else?
Event registration may be transferred to another participant upon approval by AWS. To request a transfer of your event registrations, contact our customer service agent on firstname.lastname@example.org.
I didn’t receive a confirmation / copy of my tax invoice of my paid workshop registration?
Please contact our customer service agent on email@example.com who will be able to resend you a copy of the required documentation.
Can I transfer the session which I am registered for to another session?
If there is adequate availability in the new workshop we can change your registered session. You will need to contact our customer service agent on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Will the slides be shared after the event?
Recordings of the keynotes and the AWS sessions will be available ‘on-demand’. You will receive an email with a link to watch the recorded sessions when they become available post event.
Do you offer meals for those with dietary requirements?
We aim to cater for a variety of dietary requirements, however we cannot guarantee specific or individual meal request is covered. If you have specific dietary needs or if you are looking for a wider variety of options we recommend that you bring your own meals, or take advantage of the restaurants and cafes in the area.
How is AWS ensuring sustainability at this event?
AWS has multiple sustainability initiatives for AWS Summit Sydney, including food donations and compostable and recyclable food and beverage packaging. We encourage all attendees to bring their own coffee cup and water bottle, and to use green means of transportation such as walking, cycling, and public transport. AWS is committed to delivering a great customer experience while reducing our environmental impact and supporting programs that benefit local communities.

The event venue, the International Convention Centre Sydney, has been designed to make everyone’s visit a fully accessible and inclusive event experience. How do I get to the venue?
AWS Summit 2020 will take place at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC), located in Sydney's Darling Harbour. (View map)

- Exhibition Halls 1, 2, 3 & 4, located on Level 1 with access via Level 2 - Breakout sessions, Cloud Zone Expo and catering
- ICC Theatre - Keynotes and breakout sessions
It is a five-minute walk between the Halls and the ICC Theatre. Event crew will be onsite to direct delegates to where they need to be. Please visit www.iccsydney.com for further info about the venue.
Directions to ICC are as follows:
A short walk from Central or Town Hall will take you directly to Darling Quarter, Tumbalong Park and Sydney Visitor Centre. Town Hall and Central Stations are a 10-minute walk from ICC Sydney.
ICC Sydney has its own bus stop. Bus routes 389 and 501 stop at Harris Street near Allen Street – a 10-minute walk from ICC Sydney.
The best taxi drop off and pick up locations include the new Iron Wharf Place next to Harbourside Shopping Centre and Zollner Circuit on the Southern end of ICC Sydney Theatre, both accessed via Darling Drive.

Bike racks are available in Exhibition Car Park 1 including male and female shower and change room facilities. Personal locks are required.
