AI Spring Australia

AWS has launched a new flagship program called AI Spring Australia, which will offer a range of programs to help our customers and partners across different sectors and industries build AI capability, and accelerate and deepen the adoption of AI and generative AI into their business.

Through AI Spring Australia, AWS will leverage our world-class infrastructure, industry-leading and trusted AI tools and services, built-in security and guardrails, and deep AI expertise to help customers and partners begin and accelerate their generative AI journey.

The new AWS Asia Pacific (Melbourne) Region is now open

The AWS Asia Pacific (Melbourne) Region consists of three Availability Zones and is our second AWS Region in Australia, joining the AWS Asia Pacific (Sydney) Region which launched in 2012.

This second AWS Region in Australia will provide customers with even more options to run workloads with higher performance, greater flexibility and availability, securely store data in Australia, and serve end users with even lower latency. AWS is committed to economic development in Australia by investing in infrastructure, jobs and education in the local Victorian community.

In 2023, AWS announced the launch of the first AWS Local Zones location in Australia, in Perth. AWS Local Zones are a type of infrastructure deployment that places AWS compute, storage, database, and other services near large population, industry, and information technology (IT) centers⁠—enabling customers to deploy applications that require single-digit millisecond latency to end users or on-premises data centers.
