Overview
ScaleOut StreamServer(TM) with ScaleOut GeoServer(R) adds disaster recovery and global data integration to ScaleOut StreamServer's scalable stream-processing software platform and integrated, in-memory data grid (IMDG) by enabling applications to store and access data at multiple data centers. ScaleOut StreamServer combines a scalable, stream-processing compute engine with an integrated IMDG to create a powerful, unified software platform for both stateful stream-processing and data-parallel analytics in a wide range of applications, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), logistics, and financial services. ScaleOut GeoServer provides disaster recovery and global data integration (GDI) for multiple, remote IMDGs. When configured for disaster recovery (“push” mode), it replicates data between IMDGs at multiple sites (cloud or on-premises) to protect against site-wide failures, while allowing all sites to be active. ScaleOut GeoServer transparently scales replication bandwidth as the workload grows. For GDI, ScaleOut GeoServer can be configured to enable the creation of a single, virtual data grid that spans IMDGs at multiple sites (“pull” mode) with seamless access to data regardless of where it is stored. To acquire these tools on your management workstation, download and install the latest ScaleOut StateServer Remote Client installer for Linux operating systems or the ScaleOut StateServer installer for Windows systems from our Support Downloads page: http://www.scaleoutsoftware.com/support/support-downloads/ . On Windows operating systems, select the Remote Client/Cloud Mgt. setup type.

Client applications running as a single instance or as multiple instances can connect to and make use of a deployed in-memory data grid using APIs provided by the ScaleOut StateServer Remote Client libraries. Client applications can run either within Amazon Web Services or on remote client systems. Please install the ScaleOut Remote Client libraries on all instances or servers that need to access a deployed in-memory data grid. Follow the instructions in the Product Documentation to enable a client application to dynamically connect to a named data grid within Amazon Web Services. These instructions explain how to configure the client configuration file, soss_client_params.txt, which the user stages in the ScaleOut StateServer installation folder on each client instance or remote client system prior to starting the client application.
