CloudGuard Network Security for AWS delivers advanced, multi-layered network security for the AWS cloud environment and protects cloud assets. Security features include Firewall, IPS, Application Control, IPsec VPN, Antivirus and Anti-Bot.
CloudGuard Network Security enables secure VPN connectivity between AWS and enterprise networks, data centers and secure clients with simplified setup, deployment and management. CloudGuard Network Security includes SSL/TLS traffic inspection with traffic forwarding and SNI support for advanced threat prevention inside secure SSL traffic.
The Check Point CloudGuard for AWS Security Blueprint provides best practices for designing a secure cloud-based deployment allowing agility, scalability and efficiency. The blueprint promotes automation of processes using APIs and supports Infrastructure As Code practices.
This CloudGuard Network Security gateway will be deployed as a single gateway, as a high availability cluster, or as an Auto Scaling group via Check Point CloudFormation templates (sk111013) or via automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, etc.
This BYOL distributed security gateway is managed from a central Security Management Server, which provides consistent security policy management, enforcement, and reporting across AWS and hybrid deployments within a single pane of glass.
The Security Management Server is not included in this offering. To manage CloudGuard Network Security Gateway it is recommended using Check Point Smart-1 Cloud (https://www.checkpoint.com/quantum/unified-cyber-security-platform/smart-1-cloud/Â ).

- Check Point is an APN Advanced Technology Partner with Networking and Security Competencies. CloudGuard Network Security is integrated with a broad range of AWS services, including AWS GWLB, AWS Cloud WAN, AWS Outposts, Amazon GuardDuty, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Security Hub, AWS Transit Gateway, AWS CloudTrail and VPC Flow Logs. CloudGuard Network Security also provides a library of CloudGuard CloudFormation templates (CFTs) to simplify deployment.

You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Once the instance is running, connect to it using SSH, set an admin password using: 'set user admin password' followed by 'save config'. Then connect to https://[instance] using Internet Explorer (IE) to finalize the configuration. Notes:
- SSH password authentication is disabled in /etc/ssh/sshd_config

What do you like best about the product?
During the trial, We really liked how the dashboard clearly showed the threats, polices without overwhelming the team. The threat prevention engine is very strong and it blocks traffic smartly.
What do you dislike about the product?
One issue we noticed is that the initial setup feel a bit complex for our team. There are quite few configuration steps and it takes some time to fully understand everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CloudGaurd Network Security helped us strengthen our Zero Trust approach by giving us very clear control over which resources can communicate in in our cloud environment. It provides a solid firewall layer and cloud data security. During the trial, it made it much easier to identify risky traffic and block unauthorized access attempts. Overall it was so helpful for our team.

What do you like best about the product?
it's comes with multiple security technologies that automatically detect and block attacks and detects new attacks through machine learning. Network workloads identity app all secured from a single platform. my organization runs heavy workloads in the cloud guard is a great choice especially because of its advanced threat prevention auto scaling and centralized management.
What do you dislike about the product?
it's not exactly beginner friendly. configuration is much as per the cloud environment. it's very expensive . the device slows down when logging is heavy. support is slow and unresponsive and priority tickets are also closed late.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
prevents any unauthorized user from entering the cloud. cloud guard also catches unknown threats with AI based threat prevention . it's access control keeps data accessible only to authorized user.

What I appreciate most about Check Point CloudGuard Network Security is the comprehensive protection it offers, along with its smooth integration into cloud environments. The platform delivers advanced threat prevention, centralized management, and scalability, all of which contribute to making the security of multi-cloud deployments both efficient and dependable.
What do you dislike about the product?
One aspect where Check Point CloudGuard Network Security could see improvement is in the complexity of its initial configuration and policy management. Although the platform offers robust capabilities, new users may find the learning curve quite steep at first. Nevertheless, after the system is properly configured, it provides outstanding security and control.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This solution addresses the challenge of securing multi-cloud environments by offering unified threat prevention and enhanced visibility. As a result, it helps us lower risk and makes management more straightforward.

What do you like best about the product?
I find Check Point CloudGuard Network Security to be exceptionally valuable for managing hybrid and multi-cloud environments efficiently. It offers robust automation and support features that assist in scaling operations smoothly. The platform helps ensure consistency across different environments, which significantly reduces errors and speeds up troubleshooting, making my workflow much more seamless and reliable. These features are crucial as they provide a streamlined process and ensure that the security measures are consistently applied, which greatly benefits my operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Check Point CloudGuard Network Security not truly cloud-native, behaving more like a virtualized appliance rather than a fully integrated cloud-native service. Additionally, while the SmartConsole is powerful, it feels heavy and reminiscent of a pre-premises legacy console, which isn’t ideal considering most operations are moving to the cloud. Also, the initial setup wasn't straightforward; we had to navigate it ourselves, relying on available resources without much direct guidance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Check Point CloudGuard Network Security to automate and secure my network, benefiting from its scalability and support in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. It reduces troubleshooting time by ensuring consistency across different environments.

What do you like best about the product?
its very accurate and obviously the threat prevention. The IT team can manage cloud and premises protections set up to protect sensitive documents and information.
What do you dislike about the product?
Set up takes ages and as usual with this type of apps, the learning curve is very pronounced. User interface is not my favorite and and although there is guidance documentation, i would wish it were a bit more detailed
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's protecting the sensitive information thats managed from the product developement and manufacturing details to the customer's and supplier sensitive information.
