Centralized data protection has secured backups and enables fast recovery from ransomware

    Reviewed on Apr 15, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Druva Data Security Cloud  is centralized backup and data protection across endpoints, servers, and cloud workloads with a focus on ransomware protection and fast recovery.

I am primarily using Druva Data Security Cloud  for secure backup and quick recovery of critical business data, ensuring minimal downtime in case of data loss or system failure.

My main uses involve leveraging Druva Data Security Cloud for ransomware protection and data immutability and ensuring I can recover clean data quickly in case of a cyber incident.

I have a real-world example of how I used Druva Data Security Cloud. In one of our environments, we used Druva Data Security Cloud to protect endpoints and file server data. During a ransomware incident, several users' machines had their files encrypted. Since Druva maintains immutable backups, we were able to quickly identify a clean restore point prior to the attack and restore the affected data without paying any ransom. The recovery was fast, and we were able to minimize downtime and data loss significantly.

    What is most valuable?

Druva Data Security Cloud's best features are, in my experience, immutable backups, fast and simple recovery, fully SaaS, centralized management for the backups, ransomware detection and cyber recovery, scalability and cloud-native architecture, and cost-efficiency.

The feature that made the biggest difference for my team was the immutable backups capability. Earlier, with traditional backup solutions, we always had a concern that backups themselves could be modified or deleted during a ransomware attack. That created a risk even in our recovery strategy.

However, with Druva's immutable, air-gapped backups, I had full confidence that our data was safe and untouched, no matter what happened in the environment. Compared to what we used before, this significantly improved our security posture. It removed uncertainty during incidents and allowed us to focus on fast recovery.

Druva Data Security Cloud has had a very positive impact on my organization, especially in terms of data protection, operational efficiency, and overall security posture. First, it significantly improved my resiliency against ransomware through immutable backups, which gave me confidence that our data is always recoverable.

Second, the centralized management reduced the complexity of handling backups across multiple environments. Everything is controlled from a single console. It also reduced my operational overhead since it is a SaaS-based solution. I no longer need to manage backup infrastructure or worry about storage capacity. This allowed my team to focus more on strategic tasks rather than maintenance.

Overall, it made my backup and recovery process faster, more reliable, and much easier to manage.

    What needs improvement?

Druva Data Security Cloud is a very strong SaaS-based backup and recovery platform, but based on real-world experiences, there are a few areas where it could be improved. One area is performance during very large-scale initial backups or restores.

Some environments can experience slower sync times when onboarding a large dataset. Another area for improvement is flexibility in policy customization and advanced configuration. While the platform is very simple and centralized, some organizations with complex environments may want deeper control over backup policies and encryption. Cost visibility is also something that could be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Druva Data Security Cloud for the last two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Druva Data Security Cloud is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Druva Data Security Cloud is highly scalable because it is built as a 100% SaaS, cloud-native platform with a cross-services architecture. There is no infrastructure limit, and I can scale according to my needs.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support experience with Druva Data Security Cloud has generally been very good in my experience.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used Veeam Backup solution and Veeam replication and backup solution for my backups. I switched from the previous solution to Druva Data Security Cloud due to the complex setup of that solution. Druva is more easy to use and provides a faster service for backups and disaster recovery.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The biggest advantage is that there is no upfront setup cost for the infrastructure since it is a fully SaaS-based solution. I didn't need to invest in backup servers, storage hardware, or maintenance, which significantly reduced my initial capital expenses.

It's a subscription-based licensing model, so I only pay for what I use.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for anyone evaluating Druva Data Security Cloud would be to first clearly define their backup and recovery requirements, especially RTO and RPO targets before implementation. Since Druva Data Security Cloud is a fully SaaS-based solution, it is important to understand your data growth, retention policy, and compliance needs early so you can estimate long-term costs and design the right backup strategy.

I would also recommend starting with a pilot or POC to validate key areas like backup performance, restore speed, and integration with existing environments like Active Directory endpoints or cloud workloads. I would rate this solution a 9 out of 10.

Automated backups have protected critical lab laptops and now ensure rapid recovery from incidents

    Reviewed on Apr 03, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Druva Data Security Cloud  is primarily about backup solutions, which we are using in my current organization.

A specific example of how I use Druva Data Security Cloud for backup solutions in my organization is related to a new laboratory that is deeply important to me. We have a separate environment for taking the backup of every machine in my organization. We are taking the backup of all the entire Remi laptops on a frequent basis, based on our scheduled backups.

Regarding my main use case with Druva Data Security Cloud, I would add that it involves policy configuration, requirement assessment, deployment, backup monitoring, restore and testing, and security compliance. In real-world use, we are automatically assigning predefined backup policies to a separate group of people in our organization whose laptops start a backup on critical folders.

    What is most valuable?

The best features Druva Data Security Cloud offers, in my experience, include the ability to take backups without any errors during our regular operations on our machines. This has been a great help for us to validate each and every folder from a prospective side, legal side, and security policies as well.

Druva Data Security Cloud's backup reliability and error-free backups have helped my team day-to-day by offering highly reliable automated backups with minimal features, reducing manual intervention and ensuring consistent data protection. For example, during accidental file deletion or system crashes, we are able to quickly restore the data without downtime, helping maintain business continuity.

Druva Data Security Cloud provides highly reliable automated backups with minimal failures, ensuring consistent data protection with less manual effort. In cases of accidental deletion or system crashes, it enables quick data recovery, helping maintain business continuity without downtime.

Druva Data Security Cloud has positively impacted our organization by automating backups and reducing the dependency on manual processes, improving overall efficiency. It also strengthened data security and enabled quick recovery during incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and better business continuity.

Using Druva Data Security Cloud, we have significantly reduced the recovery time from hours to minutes, improving overall operational efficiency. It also helped cut infrastructure and maintenance costs by eliminating the on-premise backup systems while ensuring reliable data protection.

    What needs improvement?

When considering how Druva Data Security Cloud could be improved, I would suggest several enhancements.

I would prefer to see improvements in Druva Data Security Cloud that include the use of end-to-end encryption, secure communication protocols, and strong authentication to prevent unauthorized access to our data and interception. It would also be helpful to regularly update firmware, enable access controls, and store data in secure platforms such as Druva Data Security Cloud to ensure backup compliance and protection against data loss or cyber threats.

Better features for our organization would include enhanced reporting and analytics and more customizable alerting, which would help improve monitoring, along with proactive issue resolution. Additionally, deep integrations with more third-party tools and faster large-scale restore performance would further strengthen efficiency and user experience.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Druva Data Security Cloud  for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Druva Data Security Cloud is very stable, providing consistent backups and reliable recovery with only the occasional minor delays during large data operations.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Druva Data Security Cloud supports on-demand scalability across endpoints, SaaS apps, and multi-cloud workloads without requiring additional hardware or capacity planning, making it ideal for growing organizations.

How are customer service and support?

In my experience, issues were resolved quickly, and the support team was proactive and helpful during both the implementation and ongoing operations. I would rate the customer support a nine on a scale of one to ten.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We do not have any previous solutions we used; we are sticking with Druva Data Security Cloud only.

    How was the initial setup?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing shows that there is a strong flexible approach. Pricing for Druva Data Security Cloud is flexible and consumption-based, mainly depending on storage usage, number of users or devices, and workload type, which makes cost predictable and scalable. Setup cost is minimal since it is a SaaS application with no hardware needed, and licensing typically involves subscription-based options such as per user, per resource, or TB-based models, depending on the use cases. Currently, we are using TB-based models.

    What was our ROI?

We have seen clear ROI through reduced infrastructure costs of up to forty to fifty percent and significant time savings on backup management effort reduced by nearly ninety percent. For example, our team saves several hours weekly on backup operations and resolves incidents faster, with restore times improving by ninety percent or more, directly improving productivity and reducing downtime.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

At this moment, we did not purchase Druva Data Security Cloud through the AWS Marketplace .

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Druva Data Security Cloud, we evaluated several other backup solutions such as Veeam Data Platform , Commvault Cloud , and Rubrik  Security Cloud, which are commonly compared in the market. However, we chose Druva Data Security Cloud mainly because of its cloud-native SaaS architecture and easier deployment, along with lower operational overhead compared to these alternatives.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others looking into using Druva Data Security Cloud would be to clearly define backup requirements, RPO, RTO, and plan policies properly before implementation, as proper planning and configuration are critical for success. I also suggest leveraging Druva Data Security Cloud as a fully cloud-native solution by enabling automation, regular monitoring, and periodic restore testing to ensure reliability and business continuity.

Druva Data Security Cloud is a reliable cloud-native solution that simplifies backups, improves security, and ensures fast recovery across endpoints, SaaS, and cloud workloads. I have rated this review an eight out of ten.
