Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for a machine image running Oracle Linux 9.8. Pricing is billed per hour based on the EC2 instance type you choose to run it on. Each listed dimension maps to a specific AWS instance size, from small shared instances to bare metal and memory- or compute-heavy machines. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or accelerators carry higher hourly rates. You only pay for the hours each instance runs, so cost scales with the size and number of instances you launch. There is no upfront commitment or fixed term.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select, billed per hour. The rate covers the Oracle Linux 9.8 machine image on that instance size. Underlying AWS compute, storage, and network fees are separate. You pick the instance type to match your CPU, memory, or accelerator needs.
Hourly software charges apply only while an instance runs. Stopped or paused instances stop accruing the per-hour software rate. You may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the machine image itself meters running time only.
Each running instance bills independently at its own hourly rate for its instance type. Costs add together across every instance you launch. Total cost depends on how many instances run, their sizes, and how long each stays active. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates than smaller ones.
