You get a hardened Debian 10 image built for ARM-based EC2. Each VM is audited against several hundred security controls. Support resources help you launch and resolve issues. The instance type you pick sets the CPU, memory, and storage profile, which in turn sets your hourly rate.
Software charges accrue only while the instance runs, since billing is per hour. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue the hourly software rate. Underlying AWS storage fees may still apply for attached volumes, but those are separate from this listing's per-hour software charge.
Your rate follows the instance type you run, not a plan tier. Switching from a smaller type like t4g.nano to a larger one like r6g.16xlarge changes your hourly rate to match that type. The change takes effect for hours the new instance runs.
