AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size across the t2, t3, m3, m4, and m5 families. Larger instances offer more compute and memory, so their hourly rate reflects that capacity. You pick the instance size that fits your workload, and billing scales with how many hours you run it. There are no upfront commitments; charges accrue only while instances run. This lets you match cost to your data flow processing needs by choosing a size and scaling up or down.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and what is included beyond the compute instance itself?
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the size you pick, billed per hour. The rate includes vendor support for the Apache NiFi deployment: a 30-minute response time, 24/7 coverage, security scans, and a management dashboard for your open-source application.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges accrue only while an instance runs. If you stop or terminate an instance, hourly charges stop. Powered-off instances do not incur software fees, though AWS may still bill for attached storage separately. There are no upfront commitments.
If my workload grows, do I move to a larger instance or add more instances?
You choose either path. You can switch to a larger instance size in the t2, t3, m3, m4, or m5 family for more compute and memory. NiFi also scales horizontally through clustering, so you can run multiple instances. Each running instance bills at its own hourly rate.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
