AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. The 18 dimensions map to specific instance types across the t2, t3, t3a, m3, and m4 families. Each option covers a different mix of compute and memory, so hourly cost scales with the instance you choose. Smaller instances like t3.large or m4.large fit lighter workloads. Larger ones like m4.16xlarge or m4.10xlarge handle heavier data pipeline processing. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs. This pricing packages Apache Airflow deployment with 24/7 security scanning and support.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billing unit cover on an instance like t3.large or m4.16xlarge?
One unit is one running hour of the EC2 instance type you pick. Each instance type sets its own compute and memory. The instance runs Apache Airflow plus the security scanning and support layer. You are charged for every hour the instance is on, regardless of workload volume.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges accrue per running hour. When you fully stop an instance, the hourly software charge stops too. Underlying AWS resources like attached storage may still incur separate AWS fees. The meter tracks running time only, so a powered-off instance does not add software cost.
If I move from a smaller to a larger instance type, how does my cost change?
You are not locked to one instance type. When you switch to a larger type, such as from m4.large to m4.4xlarge, the hourly rate follows that type. Cost changes at the moment you run the new instance. You pay each type's rate only for the hours it runs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
