You pay by the hour for SUSE Linux Enterprise Micro, a lightweight OS for containerized and virtual workloads. Pricing attaches to the AWS EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to one instance size, billed per hour of use. Rates scale with instance capacity, so larger instances with more CPU, memory, or accelerators cost more per hour than smaller ones. You are not locked into a fixed term. Charges accrue only while an instance runs. Choose the instance that fits your workload; the software rate follows that choice.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You pay per EC2 instance-hour. One unit equals one running instance of the size named in that dimension, billed for each hour it runs. The rate covers the SUSE Linux Enterprise Micro software on that instance. AWS charges the underlying compute separately.
The hourly software charge accrues only while an instance runs. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue software charges. Note that AWS may still bill for attached storage on stopped instances, but the software rate meters running time only.
This listing is the x86_64 build, so it runs on Intel and AMD 64-bit EC2 instances. SUSE Linux Micro also supports Arm 64-bit and IBM Z and LinuxONE architectures, but those require separate builds. Choose the instance dimension that matches your x86_64 workload.

Usage instructions
Use the image to start an instance of your choice in Amazon EC2. Once the instance is running connect to it using a Secure Shell (SSH) client as 'suse' and the configured SSH key. The instance is connected to the SUSE update infrastructure to receive updates. Use the transactional-update command to update the system or install additional packages.
