One unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select. The software charge meters by instance-hour. Each instance you launch bills separately at the rate matching its type. Larger or specialized instance types carry higher hourly software rates than smaller general-purpose ones.
The hourly software charge applies only while an instance runs. Stopped instances do not accrue the software fee. You may still owe standard AWS fees for storage attached to stopped instances, but the SUSE software charge meters running hours only.
It is a lightweight, immutable operating system for containerized and virtual workloads. You can run it as a standalone container host or as part of a Kubernetes cluster, on-premises, at the edge, or in the cloud. Your hourly rate still depends only on the EC2 instance type you choose.

Usage instructions
Use the image to start an instance of your choice in Amazon EC2. Once the instance is running connect to it using a Secure Shell (SSH) client as 'suse' and the configured SSH key. The instance is connected to the SUSE update infrastructure to receive updates. Use the transactional-update command to update the system or install additional packages.
