CtrlB is a unified data lake for logs, metrics, traces, events, and security telemetry. It stores data as open Parquet in your own cloud account and makes all of it searchable, not just the recent window. Engineers investigate through the built-in UI. AI agents query the same data directly over MCP, REST, or SQL, with no per-query metering.

Dimensions summary
You pay based on how much telemetry data you send in, measured per gigabyte ingested. Pricing splits into three independent usage dimensions: Logs, Metrics, and Traces. Each is billed at a per-GB rate and includes 30 days of retention. These dimensions are not tiers or bundles. You pay for each data type separately, based on the volume you ingest. Costs scale with the amount of data you send, so higher ingestion across any type raises that portion of your bill. Data stays on object storage you own.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You are billed on the volume of data you ingest, measured per gigabyte for logs, metrics, and traces. Queries and reads are not metered. Agents and clients can search your stored data without adding to the ingestion-based charge.
Logs, Metrics, and Traces are billed independently, each per gigabyte ingested. They add together on one invoice. The dimension you send the most data to drives the largest share. Log-heavy environments see logs dominate; trace-heavy debugging shifts cost toward traces.
Each per-GB rate includes 30 days of retention for that data type. The ingestion charge covers storage during that window. Because data stays on object storage you own, retention beyond 30 days depends on your own storage arrangement rather than the per-GB ingestion charge shown.
