You pay based on usage, billed per gigabyte of telemetry you send in. Three independent dimensions cover Logs, Metrics, and Traces. Each is priced separately by the volume ingested, and each includes 30 days of retention. Your cost scales with the amount of data you ingest in each category. Because the dimensions are independent, you pay only for the telemetry types you actually use. There are no fixed tiers or instance sizes — the more you ingest, the more you pay across each dimension.

What counts as a gigabyte for billing — is it measured at ingestion or after indexing?
You are billed per gigabyte of raw telemetry you send in, measured at ingestion. This applies separately to Logs, Metrics, and Traces. Cost tracks the bytes ingested, not the number of series, fields, or tags. Each gigabyte ingested includes 30 days of retention.
Are queries and searches charged separately from ingestion?
No. Billing is based only on the volume of data you ingest across Logs, Metrics, and Traces. Reads and queries run against your ingested data are not metered as separate pricing dimensions. The three ingestion dimensions are the only charges shown on the pricing table.
Which dimension drives most of my bill when I send all three telemetry types?
The three dimensions bill independently and add together on one invoice. The one that dominates depends on which telemetry type you ingest most by volume. High-volume log pipelines push Logs cost up. Metrics-heavy or trace-heavy workloads shift the largest share to those dimensions instead.
