AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance type. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, and your hourly rate follows the instance you pick. Smaller instances like t3.micro or t2.nano suit light workloads. Larger instances such as m5.24xlarge or u-24tb1.metal handle heavier compute, memory, or storage needs. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and GPU or high-performance families. The GitLab Community Edition software cost stays consistent across sizes; your total varies with the instance you run. You add standard AWS infrastructure charges separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly rate on my chosen instance?
You get the pre-configured GitLab Community Edition image running on your selected Amazon EC2 instance. It comes with the latest GitLab CE version and its prerequisites installed, plus Let's Encrypt SSL support on Ubuntu 24.04. The instance size you pick sets its CPU, memory, and storage capacity.
Am I charged when I stop or pause the instance?
Software charges meter running hours only. When you stop the instance, hourly software charges stop accruing. You may still pay standard AWS fees for attached storage while the instance is stopped. Restarting the instance resumes the hourly software charge.
What drives my total cost, and what is billed separately?
Your instance choice drives the hourly software charge, which stays consistent across sizes. Standard AWS infrastructure charges for compute, storage, and data transfer are billed separately by AWS. Both appear alongside each other, so a larger instance raises the underlying AWS portion of your bill.
