Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One hour equals one running hour of the EC2 instance you launch. The software charge accrues for every clock hour the instance runs. Each dimension maps to a specific instance type, so switching instance types changes the hourly rate you pay.
The software fee meters running time only. Stopped or powered-off instances do not accrue software charges. You may still pay underlying AWS fees for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but the hourly software charge pauses when the instance is not running.
Yes. Each running instance bills independently at its own hourly rate. If you run two instances, you pay both hourly rates in parallel for every hour each one runs. Costs add up across all active instances on the same invoice.
