This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply (PAYG) for Extended Security Updates - which extends the 6 month minor version lifecycle to at least six years, FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic modules, and access to TuxCare's award winning Enterprise Support for AlmaLinux.
Highlights

You pay by the hour for AlmaLinux 9.6 Endless Lifecycle Support, billed under a usage model. Pricing is not tiered by feature level. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, from small shared instances up through metal and high-memory sizes. The hourly rate scales with the instance you run. Larger instances with more compute or memory carry higher hourly rates, while smaller instances cost less per hour. You select the dimension that matches your chosen EC2 instance, and charges accrue only for the hours each instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly dimension actually map to for billing?
Each dimension maps to one specific AWS EC2 instance type. You are billed for one running instance of that type, per hour. Pick the dimension that matches the instance size you launch. Charges accrue for each hour that instance runs, based on that instance's hourly rate.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or powered off?
The software charge meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the Endless Lifecycle Support software bills for time the instance is actually running.
What does the hourly charge cover, and what am I actually receiving?
You receive Endless Lifecycle Support for AlmaLinux 9.6. This delivers security patches for end-of-life operating system components after official support ends. Patches reach your systems through standard package managers with no extra tooling. The hourly rate covers this coverage on the running instance you selected.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
