This is the first open geodemographic classification for the United States and was developed in collaboration between Seth Spielman (University of Colorado, Boulder) and Alex Singleton (University of Liverpool). Unlike proprietary geodemographics, all methods, data inputs and software used to create this classification are open source. This classification was created for those who cannot afford a commercially produced market segmentation or those who value transparency and reproducibility in their analyses.
Enrich your customer data with the New American Atlas so as to be able to easily segment your customer base in terms of their socio-demographic and socio-economic attributes. Understand which consumer segments are more relevant to your business, etc.

This listing is offered at no cost. It provides a single data product covering U.S. Census tracts, delivered as a dataset rather than a metered service. Because it is free, there are no tiers, usage units, or scaling charges to compare. You access the data directly without upfront commitment or per-operation billing. The single dimension carries no separate price components, so pricing structure is straightforward: one free offering with no add-ons or quantity choices to configure.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What geographic data does this free product include?
This product provides U.S. Census tract data as a curated dataset. Census tracts are small, subdivided areas within counties used for reporting population and demographic statistics. You access the dataset directly through the platform without configuring quantities or usage limits.
How is the data delivered and accessed once I subscribe?
The dataset is delivered through native data-sharing capabilities of your connected cloud data warehouse. You access it directly where you work, without copying data across environments. There are no per-operation charges, since this offering carries no usage-based billing.
Does using this free dataset trigger any usage charges as my analysis grows?
No. This listing has a single free dimension with no metered units, tiers, or thresholds. Your cost does not change as you query or analyze the data more. Note that your underlying cloud data warehouse may bill separately for compute and storage you consume.
