See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for the Amazon EC2 instance size you run. This preconfigured Ibexa appliance carries no separate software license fee; billing is tied purely to instance usage. The dimensions map to EC2 instance families, so you choose based on compute, memory, storage, or general-purpose needs. Options range from small burstable sizes (like t3.micro) up to large compute, memory, and storage-optimized types (like c8i-flex, r8i, and i7i). Larger instances cost more per hour. You scale cost up or down by selecting a different instance size for your workload.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly charge, and is there a separate Ibexa software fee?
You get a preconfigured server image running Ibexa Open Source with a database, web server, mail transfer agent, SSL support, and a web admin panel. The software is open source, so the hourly rate covers the running EC2 instance only. There is no separate license fee for the application.
Am I charged the hourly rate when my instance is stopped?
The hourly software rate meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly charge. You may still pay underlying AWS storage fees for the instance's disk while it is stopped, but that is separate from this listing's per-hour rate.
How does one instance size differ from another for billing purposes?
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type from a different family. Burstable t3 sizes suit light or variable use. Compute (c8i-flex), memory (r8i), and storage (i7i) families target heavier workloads. You pick one size and pay its hourly rate; larger sizes cost more per hour.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
