Give agents the power to search the public web with the best balance of quality, speed, and cost. Parallel is a programmable search engine built from the ground up for agents: returning semantically ranked URLs and compressed excerpts that are optimized for LLM context windows and reasoning.
Parallel Search API grounds your AI agents in the live web with a single tool call. Your agent states its objective in plain language, and we return URLs ranked by how useful each page is for the agent's next reasoning step, each with dense, LLM-ready excerpts. One call covers search, scrape, parse, and re-rank, so your agent makes fewer round trips, spends fewer tokens, and produces more accurate answers.
Independent testing backs this up. Parallel Search ranks #1 on the Artificial Analysis Search Index (August 2026), which combines DeepSearchQA, BrowseComp, and AA-Omniscience across 12 products from 7 providers. Our Advanced mode scored 75 and delivered the largest quality lift over the model-only baseline (+42).
Why it's different
We built Parallel Search for AI agents from the ground up. We didn't adapt a search product designed for humans.
Objectives, not keywords. Agents describe what they need ("Columbus-based corporate law firms specializing in disability care") instead of building brittle keyword strings.
Our own web index. We maintain a proprietary index of billions of pages, with millions added daily. We don't rely on third-party search providers.
Ranking for reasoning. We rank pages by token relevance to the agent's task, not SEO signals. No ads, no SEO noise.
Dense excerpts. Every result includes compressed, query-relevant excerpts sized for an LLM context window, so your model reasons over fewer, higher-signal tokens.
Priced per request. You know the exact cost of a query before it runs.

This listing
This is our dedicated AWS-hosted Search API offering. We serve it from Parallel's AWS infrastructure (aws.api.parallel.ai), so your usage draws down against your existing AWS commitment. This SKU covers the Search API only. You can access our broader API suite (Extract, Task, FindAll, Monitor, and more) through our primary listing or directly at parallel.ai.
Getting started
Subscribe through AWS Marketplace, then generate an API key at platform.parallel.ai. We bill per search request (10 results included) plus per additional result, metered hourly to your AWS bill. A free tier of 80,000 requests is available for evaluation, and paid usage supports up to 600 requests per minute. You'll find full documentation, quickstarts, and MCP setup instructions at docs.parallel.ai.
Highlights
Built for AI agents. Agents state objectives in plain language. We return ranked URLs with dense, LLM-ready excerpts from our own index of billions of pages, so each call uses fewer tokens and fewer round trips.
High accuracy at a fraction of the cost. Fast mode delivers industry-leading accuracy at $1 per 1,000 requests, 10x cheaper than the default search in frontier models. Choose from four modes, from ~200ms Turbo to Advanced for deeper research.
Enterprise-ready, billed through AWS. Usage draws down against your existing AWS commitment. Parallel is SOC 2 Type 2 certified, with zero data retention available and no training on customer data.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing uses one usage-based dimension. You pay a usage fee where each unit equals one cent USD. Billing scales directly with how much you use the Search API, measured in these units. There are no separate tiers or instance sizes to choose from on Marketplace. Your total cost rises or falls with your search volume, so you only pay for what you consume. This single metered structure keeps billing tied to actual API activity rather than a fixed commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one usage unit pay for in the Search API?
One unit equals one cent USD. You spend units on search requests. A single request returning ten results consumes a set number of units, and fetching additional results or pages adds more units. Your unit total tracks the volume and depth of searches your agents run.
Does the cost per search change based on how many results I request?
Yes. A request returning ten results is priced per request, and asking for additional results beyond that adds a separate charge per extra result. Deeper search modes also cost more per request than lighter modes. Your unit consumption rises with both request count and the number of results retrieved.
Do I pay a fixed amount regardless of search volume, or only for what I run?
You pay only for what you consume. Billing is metered in units, with one unit equal to one cent. There is no fixed charge independent of activity. Each search request draws down units based on the mode and results, so your cost moves directly with your API volume.
