    What is our primary use case?

    The main use case for DXC Cloud Services  is supporting cloud migration and managing hybrid cloud environments. We use it to migrate legacy applications to the cloud, manage infrastructure, ensure smooth operations across on-prem, and it helps improve scalability and overall system performance.

    From a day-to-day perspective, DXC Cloud Services  supports infrastructure monitoring, incident management, and optimization, which ensures that it remains stable and scalable. It also helps in capacity planning and resource optimization, so we can efficiently handle varying workloads without over-provisioning. One specific example is how we handle the migration of legacy applications from on-premises infrastructure to a hybrid cloud environment. Initially, DXC helped us with a detailed assessment including dependencies, performance requirements, and potential risks. During the migration, they used automation tools and predefined frameworks to ensure minimal downtime and smooth transition. They also handle data migration, environment setup, and validation which reduced the burden on our internal teams. If there is a performance issue, we can quickly identify whether it is coming from the cloud side or on-prem infrastructure and take action accordingly.

    Another important aspect is ongoing optimization and governance after migration. It is not just about moving workloads to the cloud. DXC also helps us with cost optimization, resource utilization, and performance tuning on a continuous basis. For example, they assisted in identifying underutilized resources and right-sizing them, which helps control cloud costs. Additionally, having a managed service model means we get continuous support for monitoring, incident handling, and updates, which reduces the operational burden on our internal teams. Overall, it is a combination of migration, management, and continuous improvement that defines our use case with DXC Cloud Services.

    In our hybrid cloud setup, we use DXC Cloud Services. Majorly, we partner with public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services  and Microsoft Azure . DXC helps us manage and integrate these cloud platforms with our on-premise infrastructure seamlessly.

    What is most valuable?

    There are several best features that DXC offers. It provides a comprehensive end-to-end cloud ecosystem, rather than just a single feature. From my experience, the most valuable features are end-to-end cloud services, which cover the complete cloud journey from planning and migration to ongoing management. Then, strong multi-cloud and hybrid cloud support, which works seamlessly across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments, allowing flexibility in how workloads are deployed and managed. The third one is cloud migration expertise, which provides structured and scalable migration methodologies. The fourth one is automation and intelligent operations, including workload orchestration, monitoring, and issue resolution, which reduces manual effort seamlessly. The next one is cloud service orchestration, providing centralized visibility, automation, and governance across multi-cloud environments. Then is a strong partner ecosystem, such as AWS , Azure , and Google Cloud , ensuring flexibility and enterprise-grade reliability. Lastly, it offers scalability and performance optimization.

    Out of seven to eight features that I have mentioned, the biggest difference in my day-to-day life, which has been made, is the end-to-end cloud management and automation capability provided by DXC Cloud Services. The main reason is that it reduces a lot of manual effort in monitoring, incident handling, and infrastructure management. Instead of teams constantly tracking issues or managing resources manually, many of these activities are automated and centrally managed, which saves time and improves efficiency. This feature helps us focus more on application quality and delivery rather than spending too much time on operational overhead.

    It had a significant positive impact on our organization, especially in terms of scalability, efficiency, and modernization. One of the biggest improvements is operational efficiency. By offloading infrastructure management and automating routine tasks, our teams can focus on development, testing, and delivering business value rather than managing environments. Another key impact is improved visibility and control access across hybrid environments. With centralized monitoring and management, we can quickly identify issues and ensure better system stability. Overall, it has enabled a smoother cloud transformation journey while improving performance, reliability, and team productivity.

    Deployment time reduced around thirty to forty percent with standardized processes and automation. Environment setup and deployments have become much faster. Another thing is infrastructure-related incidents reduced by twenty-five percent due to better monitoring and proactive issue management. Then, improved system uptime to around ninety-nine point nine percent, which has helped ensure better reliability for business-critical applications. Resource utilization improved by twenty to thirty percent and faster issue resolution, with MTTR reduced by twenty percent. Thanks to centralized monitoring and better visibility across environments, these improvements have helped us deliver releases faster, reduce downtime, and improve overall systems while also making better use of our infrastructure resources.

    What needs improvement?

    Even though it has all the unique features, there is room for improvement. It can improve on simplifying onboarding and initial setup. The implementation process can be quite complex and time-consuming, so they can work more on it. They can also improve transparency and reporting, as when monitoring is strong, more user-friendly and customizable reporting dashboards would make it easier for teams to get quick insights without relying heavily on DXC Cloud Services teams. Additionally, they can improve on faster response for complex issues, and more flexibility is needed in customization, as greater flexibility would help organizations tailor the platform to their specific needs. Also, cost optimization visibility is essential; although cost optimization is supported, having more real-time cost insights would help teams manage budgets more proactively.

    With DXC Cloud Services, it would be beneficial to have more self-service capabilities so internal teams can make certain changes or access configurations without always depending on the DXC Cloud Services team. Also, improving knowledge and documentation sharing would help teams better understand the platform and reduce dependency for day-to-day operations.

    For how long have I used the solution?

    I have been using DXC Cloud Services for around two years.

    What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    I feel personally working with DXC Cloud Services is more stable and reliable, especially for enterprise-level workloads. This platform provides consistent performance and high availability, particularly in hybrid environments where both cloud and on-prem systems are involved.

    What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    It is highly scalable. Some users may experience delays, but it is recognized as a leader in cloud infrastructure management services, which reflects its ability to deliver reliable and scalable solutions across different cloud platforms. One of the key strengths is its support for multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures, which allows us to scale workloads across different platforms based on demand. This flexibility is very useful when dealing with changing business requirements.

    How are customer service and support?

    The customer support is very good. It can vary depending on the complexity of the issue and services. It provides structured support models with dedicated teams and account managers. They offer multiple support channels like ticketing, email, and phone, along with defined SLAs for response and resolution. For standard issues, the support team is usually responsive and knowledgeable, especially in cloud and infrastructure areas. However, there are a few challenges with complex and critical issues. Resolution time can sometimes be slower, requiring follow-ups.

    Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

    My previous setup involved on-premise infrastructure along with some basic cloud usage. We decided to switch to a more scalable, structured, and managed approach. The earlier setup required a lot of manual effort, so with DXC Cloud Services, we were able to move towards a managed cloud model with better optimization, centralized monitoring, and hybrid cloud support, which addressed the limitations we faced earlier.

    We have seen a clear return on investment with DXC Cloud Services as cost savings, efficiency, and time to delivery improvements. Infrastructure cost reduction of around twenty to twenty-five percent comes from moving away from on-prem systems and optimizing cloud resources. Deployment timelines reduced by thirty to forty percent and we also reduced dependency on infrastructure teams. Operational effort reduced by twenty-five to thirty percent and faster issue resolution improved by twenty percent because of better visibility and proactive monitoring. For industry-level examples, I have seen a twenty-five percent reduction in IT infrastructure costs, and a twelve to thirty-four percent improvement in total cost of ownership after modernization. The deployment cycles have reduced from weeks to even a single day in some cases. The biggest return on investment comes from faster delivery cycles, lower infrastructure costs, and reduced operational burden on internal teams.

Regarding the setup cost, it is relatively high because it involves assessment, migration planning, execution, and integration with existing systems and hybrid environments. While there is not a simple license fee, the implementation onboarding can be significant, especially for large enterprises. Also, a flexible and scalable pricing model aligned with enterprise needs is better suited for organizations looking for long-term transformation rather than short-term cost savings.

    Which other solutions did I evaluate?

    Before choosing DXC Cloud Services, we evaluated other options as well. Some of them were Accenture, which is strong in cloud consulting but comparatively higher in cost, and IBM Cloud Services , which is good for enterprise and hybrid cloud but required deeper integration efforts. We also evaluated TCS , which provides similar managed services but we found DXC Cloud Services' approach more aligned with our requirements. Additionally, we looked at Amazon Web Services, which is technically strong but more focused on the cloud platform rather than end-to-end managed service. We chose DXC Cloud Services in the end.

    What other advice do I have?

    We did not purchase DXC Cloud Services through AWS Marketplace . It was engaged directly through DXC Cloud Services as part of our enterprise service agreement.

    I have covered most of the key areas; to add briefly for DXC Cloud Services, improving proactive communication and regular updates during ongoing operations would be helpful, especially for tracking changes, incidents, or maintenance activities. Enhancing real-time visibility into system performance and cost dashboards would further improve the overall user experience.

    For those looking into using DXC Cloud Services, I would say first plan your requirements clearly. This is a strong choice for organizations planning large-scale or complex cloud transformations, but it is important to approach it strategically. Clearly define your cloud strategy upfront, then assess your existing environment in detail and plan for the initial investment and timeline. Only then can you leverage their managed services and expertise. You should focus on governance and cost monitoring early to ensure strong collaboration with DXC Cloud Services team. Overall, I would recommend this cloud service for organizations needing a structured multi-cloud solution.

However, it works best when there is clear planning, alignment, and ongoing collaboration. Once everything is planned, you can go for DXC Cloud Services.
