    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Version release notes

Includes BPE 16.2, TPE 16.2, TSF 5.3.3, NTT DATA Enterprise COBOL 6.1

    Additional details

    Usage instructions

This AMI provides the foundation to create TPE/BPE nodes and run migrated code. All of the essential prerequisites are in place to simplify deployments. Additional EBS volumes for data files as well as their file system layouts must be created after the EC2 instance creation.

To begin, SSH to the new instance as "ec2-user" using the key specified during launch time. This "ec2-user" has full sudo authority by default so be sure to lock down the instance after launch in accordance to existing security policies.

The NTT DATA UniKix Re-host product suite is installed in /opt/software and the tar product packages are also available under /opt/software/staging.

The TPE and BPE 'primer' example applications are available under /home/ec2-user.

Note that region's TN3270 server listens on port 4444. Ensure this port number is added to a Security Group and assigned to the instance if you want to connect your TN3270 client.

Executing the Sample Application as ec2-user

    1. Source the primer subsystem environment

      . $EBMHOME/batchenv primer

    2. Start the BPE node

      bam start

    3. Start the TPE region

      kixregion start $KIXSYS

    4. Verify the TPE region is connected to the BPE subsystem. From the Command Prompt screen, type the following:

      ebmsys -t

    5. Submit the job, by entering the following command:

      BPESUB primer
