    This VM is pre-configured for AWX (v24.6.1) which provides a web based Ansible interface and is the upstream project from which the Red Hat Ansible Tower offering is ultimately derived. Streamline your Ansible automation workflows and increase your efficiency and productivity with Ansible AWX.

    Ansible, despite being a powerful tool for DevOps is still command based which makes it difficult to manage and administer. AWX provides a web based centralized Ansible interface to harness the full power of Ansible.

    An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Usage instructions

    1. On the EC2 Console page, instance is up and running. To connect to this instance through putty, copy the IPv4 Public IP Address.
    2. Open putty, paste the IP address and browse your private key you downloaded while deploying the VM, by going to SSH , Auth , Credentials, click on Open. Enter ubuntu as userid
    3. Once connected, change the password for ubuntu user using below command sudo passwd ubuntu
    4. Now the password for ubuntu user is set, you can connect to the VMs desktop environment from any local Windows Machine using RDP protocol or Linux Machine using Remmina.
    5. From your local windows machine, goto start menu, in the search box type and select Remote desktop connection. In the Remote Desktop connection wizard, copy the public IP address and click connect.
    6. This will connect you to the VMs desktop environment. Provide the username as ubuntu and the password set in the above Reset password step to authenticate. Click OK 7.Now you are connected to the out of box Ansible AWX (Opensource Ansible Tower alternative) environment via Windows Machine. 8.For connecting to AWX UI via Web Interface, SSH to the VM as shown in Step 2 and run below command sudo docker logs tools_awx_1 | grep "Admin password"
    7. Note down the password for admin user.
    8. Login to the web interface by opening the url http://your-external-ip  in your browser
    9. Use admin as username and auto-generated password
