This product has charges associated with it for providing dedicated seller support and OS-level hardening by Blume in line with ACSC Essential Eight compliance. The ACSC Essential Eight Red Hat 9 AMI delivers a compliance-ready operating system with security controls mapped to the Australian Cyber Security Centre's baseline mitigation strategies.
This is a repackaged software product wherein additional charges apply for dedicated seller support and operating system hardening by Blume.
Our AMIs are specifically hardened to meet ACSC Essential Eight compliance, which defines the baseline set of mitigation strategies recommended by the Australian Cyber Security Centre to protect systems against common cyber threats. These controls include application whitelisting, patching applications and operating systems, restricting administrative privileges, implementing multi-factor authentication, and other key strategies that strengthen overall system security.
By delivering an OS image aligned with ACSC Essential Eight, organizations can accelerate compliance efforts and improve their security posture without needing to manually configure and audit the baseline themselves.
Achieving ACSC compliance matters because it ensures that your operating system is built against recognized Australian government security standards, reducing vulnerabilities, strengthening resilience against attacks, and meeting regulatory or industry mandated governance requirements.
Finally, our operating systems are not only compliance ready but are also consistently updated, ensuring that the latest security patches are applied in a timely manner to maintain protection and reliability in production environments.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the AWS instance type you run. This listing is an ARM64 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 image hardened to ACSC Essential Eight controls, with seller support included. Each dimension maps to one ARM-based EC2 instance size, from small general-purpose types up to large memory-, compute-, and storage-optimized and bare-metal types. Pricing scales with the instance size and family you select. There is no fixed term or upfront commitment; you are billed only for the hours each instance runs. Choose the instance that matches your workload.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly software charge on each instance type?
You get an ARM64 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 image hardened to ACSC Essential Eight controls, plus seller support. The hourly charge covers this software on one running EC2 instance of the size you select. Underlying AWS compute, storage, and network fees are separate and billed by AWS.
Am I charged the software fee when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software fee meters only the hours an instance runs. Stopped or paused instances do not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay AWS for attached storage while an instance is stopped, but that is an AWS charge, not the software charge.
What determines how much I pay across the different instance types?
Each dimension maps to one ARM-based EC2 instance size. The hourly rate changes with the instance family and size you pick, from small general-purpose types up to large memory-, compute-, storage-optimized, and bare-metal types. Running more instances or bigger sizes raises your total hourly cost.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
We recommend scoping your launched EC2 instance to only your internal network and restricting access to your own IP address for maximum security.
How to Connect to Your Red Hat 9 Instance Using SSH:
Locate your key pair: Ensure you have the .pem key pair file selected when launching the instance. Save it securely on your local machine.
Set permissions: Update the file permissions on the key file so it is not publicly viewable. Example: chmod 400 your-key.pem
Find the public DNS or IP: In the AWS Management Console, open the EC2 Dashboard and locate the Public DNS (IPv4) or Public IP of your instance.
Connect with SSH: From your terminal, run the following command, replacing your-key.pem with your key file and <public-dns> with your instance details: ssh -i your-key.pem ec2-user@<public-dns>
Accept the fingerprint: When prompted, confirm the fingerprint to establish the first-time connection.
You are now connected to your Red Hat 9 instance via SSH.
