Go, sometimes referred to as Golang, is an open-source programming language with intention to create a programming language that could be learned quickly. Since its release, Go has become highly popular among developers and is used for various applications ranging from cloud or server-side applications, to artificial intelligence and robotics.
This Linux image provided is tailored for enterprise-level performance on AWS, containing an installation of Go, the necessary packages to operate an SSH Server and permit user logins. The most recent security updates from the team are incorporated. Root login is deactivated, with only the default user granted access via SSH public key authentication.

Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the Go runtime running on Amazon Linux 2023 (ARM), with vendor support from Apollo. Pricing is not tiered. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific ARM-based EC2 instance type. Your hourly rate depends on the instance you choose. Rates scale with instance size and family, so larger instances (such as 16xlarge) cost more per hour than smaller ones (such as medium or large). Families like c7g, m7g, r7g, i4g, and x2gd target different compute, memory, and storage needs. You run only the instances you select and pay for the hours used.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Charges apply per hour while an instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software charge. Note that AWS may still bill you for attached storage or other underlying resources, but the Apollo software rate meters running time only.
Each dimension bills per running hour of one EC2 instance of the named type, such as m7g.xlarge or c7gd.16xlarge. You are charged for the Go runtime on Amazon Linux 2023 (ARM) with Apollo support. Larger instance types carry more compute, memory, or storage and bill at higher hourly rates.
The hourly rate includes Apollo's on-demand support across email, phone, and chat. Apollo aims to respond to queries within 24 hours. The instances also use industry-standard hardening frameworks. Support applies the same way across every instance type you select.
