Options span many families: general-purpose (m6g, m7g, a1, t4g), compute-optimized (c6g, c7g, c6gn, c7gn, c6gd, c7gd), memory-optimized (r6g, r7g, x2gd, r6gd, r7gd), and storage-focused (i4g, im4gn, is4gen), plus GPU-enabled g5g. Sizes range from nano and medium up to 16xlarge and metal. Larger instances cost more per hour. You are billed only for hours the instance runs.

What does one billing unit cover for these hourly instances?
One unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select, billed per hour. Each instance runs MariaDB on Amazon Linux 2023 with Apollo support. You pay for each active instance separately. Running two instances of the same type means two hourly charges.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue Apollo software charges. Underlying AWS resources, such as attached storage, may still incur separate AWS fees while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when the instance runs again.
What support is included with the hourly instance charge?
Each hourly instance includes Apollo support across email, phone, and chat. Apollo aims to respond within 24 hours. Instances are hardened using standard security frameworks. This support applies to every instance type you run, so it is not a separate line item.
