Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the Amazon EC2 instance you run, with Rust preinstalled on ARM-based Amazon Linux 2023 and support from the vendor. Pricing scales with the instance size and family you choose. Options span many ARM instance families for general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, and storage-focused workloads. Within each family, sizes range from small (medium, large) up to very large (16xlarge and bare-metal) configurations. Larger sizes carry higher hourly rates because they provide more compute, memory, or storage. You select the instance that matches your workload and pay only for the hours you use.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billed hour cover for these instances?
You are billed per hour that an Amazon EC2 instance runs with Rust preinstalled on ARM-based Amazon Linux 2023. One unit equals one running instance for one hour. The rate reflects the instance size and family you launch. Vendor support for the stack is included in that hourly charge.
Am I charged the software fee when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software fee meters running time only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Underlying AWS resources, such as attached storage, may still bill separately through AWS. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
How do I choose between the many instance options, and how does cost change if I switch?
Each option maps to a specific ARM instance size and family for general-purpose, compute, memory, or storage needs. Pick the one matching your workload. Switching to a larger size raises the hourly rate because it adds compute, memory, or storage. You pay the rate of whichever instance is running.
