Multi-cloud governance has improved and resource utilization automation delivers daily value

    Reviewed on Aug 25, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I use VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth to deploy VMs into the VMware environment. It is a tool used by our admin and finance team to work on their products, and as an operation, we maintain those services.

We use VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth as a platform as a service solution in our multi-cloud environment because we host AWS and our VMware cloud. We also have storage solutions that are dependent on it. I have worked in multi-cloud environments and feel that VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is a good option these days.

The finance and admin team would be able to answer specific questions better. We use VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth as a notification tool, and we have a multi-cloud environment with multiple tools around it. For a particular organization and client we work for, they requested to use this tool, which may have something to do with licensing. I feel that this has an edge over other tools.

    What is most valuable?

I think resource utilization and automation are the best features that VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth offers, and these are the best use cases I have seen.

VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth's AI capabilities are good regarding governance and security.

    What needs improvement?

I feel there are still APIs that VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth needs to work on and integrate. I do not see a gap, but I see some lagging when we integrate it with both AWS and Azure. This is just my observation, though it could be something related to environment dependency.

I feel there is still some scope for improvement. I may not know a lot because I use it as a day-to-day tool and do not work too deeply into it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth on and off for a couple of years now. I cannot state that it has been more than four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is stable in my experience.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth's scalability is good.

How are customer service and support?

We have not used VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth's customer support much.

    How was the initial setup?

I am not really sure if I have seen a return on investment from using VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth. I have not noticed money saved, time saved, or fewer employees needed.

    What about the implementation team?

As a consultant and operation team member, we are given the tools that are being purchased by the procurement team.

    What was our ROI?

I am not really sure if I have seen a return on investment from using VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth. I have not noticed money saved, time saved, or fewer employees needed.

What other advice do I have?

I appreciate the GUI interface of VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth, and it is very user-friendly. Because we on the DevOps team have many tools that we work with, and depending on the client, we get different tools that we must work with on a daily basis, a comparatively easier GUI makes it easier for us to automate tasks and use it in any environment.

We use VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth for health checks. We do have Nagios and other monitoring tools as well, but I think VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth stands out. My overall review rating for VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is nine.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Integrated cloud insights have improved workload visibility but pricing and support still need work

    Reviewed on Aug 20, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My use case for VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is to integrate workloads.

    What is most valuable?

The most beneficial part for me in VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is that it's integrated with the other products.

The policy-driven management, alerts, and reports help to improve operations.

It helps by gaining visibility into a much lower level where you can gain visibility to your infrastructure.

The dashboard helps to streamline cloud management practices, which is a good thing.

Because it aggregates the information that you need in a single place.

    What needs improvement?

They could improve the life cycle.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using it for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would give it eight or nine points for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate scalability at eight.

How are customer service and support?

Usually, technical support is good, but if I have big problems, then it gets very problematic.

If you have an incident with one of your products that is easily fixable, the level one and level two support are very helpful. However, if there is something bigger or a larger problem with the product, then it goes into a black hole and stays there forever until either you give up.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is very different compared to Red Hat products. However, imagine a product that you can install, such as KVM, for free. It is not the same thing as vSphere, I understand this, but it's free and it's powerful. People who are willing to spend a little bit more money on operations instead of discarding one million euros every year for VMWare products should consider alternatives.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is a very good product, but if you decide to market it at twice the price of the next commercial competitor in an environment that has many open-source solutions, many people can do without those features.

You can go with Red Hat as an alternative.

What other advice do I have?

VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth works with the Avi Load Balancer and integrates well with containers.

The integration part is the key aspect of VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth.

For someone who knows how to correctly administer and operate it, VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is a beneficial thing.

The problem is how the new company decided to package the products and destroy all the old VMWare ecosystem that they had for partners and for all the tools that the partners had. The prices have become high as well.

I don't know what the best features are or much about the analytics features.

We don't measure the effectiveness of VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth and don't use any metrics.

I cannot think of any problems with VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth right now.

I would prefer to have support split on less critical incidents and higher critical ones.

I would give VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth an eleven for price because it's quite expensive.

My overall rating for VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is a seven.

Centralized Multi-Cloud Cost Visibility with Powerful Reporting and Optimization

    Reviewed on Aug 17, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like its centralized multi-cloud cost visibility, detailed reporting, and optimization recommendations. It makes it easier to identify waste, control cloud spend, and improve resource utilization across the environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main drawback is that the initial setup and tagging can take some effort, and the wide range of features can make the UI and reporting feel complex at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the challenge of managing and optimizing cloud costs across multiple environments. CloudHealth gives us centralized cost visibility, identifies savings opportunities, and helps with budgeting, forecasting, and governance. This improves resource utilization and helps reduce unnecessary cloud spend.

VMware Tanzu CloudHealth Streamlines Cloud Management with Easy Monitoring and operating services

    Reviewed on Aug 17, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
VMware Tanzu CloudHealth helps streamline cloud management, improves overall service efficiency, and offers a clear, easy-to-use dashboard for monitoring, day-to-day visibility, and ongoing oversight.
What do you dislike about the product?
It offers multiple benefits, but it still has a few technical and operational drawbacks. For example, it lacks real-time cost synchronisation, and the onboarding process can feel complex and more difficult than expected. Overall, the costing functionality needs improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
VMware Tanzu CloudHealth helped me address multi-cloud management challenges by providing a single, centralized platform. It also improved resource efficiency, making it easier to manage and optimize usage across environments.

Cloud cost governance has improved and now provides detailed control of shared workloads

    Reviewed on Aug 16, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I have been using VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth for six years.

My main use case for VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is to control our cloud environments. We have VMWare in cloud running on AWS and Azure, but also we use it to control our cloud load running in AWS and Azure.

One of the things we do is use VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth to identify all our load running in one single tenant account to check what was the cost of running these loads and then use it to create the accounts for each of these users and transfer the loads to them. We were able to show them the cost that was being used for each of these accounts and now they will be able to have a better view and control of the expenses on the cloud.

    What is most valuable?

VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is a great tool to understand the cost of the clouds, to have very detailed financial information on the loads running there, how much of the budget is being used, and have a clear overview of what is happening and plan for the future.

The best features VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth offers are cost management and right sizing because one of the main problems on the load in the cloud is that people tend to think that it is like running things on-premises and you can build huge VMs with no consequences. This is a great tool to show the users that it is different and you need to better right-size your loads in the cloud compared to on-premises.

We migrated loads from premises to the cloud where we were having very big VMs. After showing the team running these VMs using VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth that the VMs were consuming a lot of resources, we were able to show them that it was better to reduce the size of the VMs, spread out the load, and use only the capacity that was being required at the specific times.

Having a better control of our cloud loads and having ways to see how to optimize and improve how it is running there and having better governance was critical for our organization's success.

    What needs improvement?

For my personal case, VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth works perfectly. I do not see any urgent or required improvements. Perhaps later on I will see those possibilities, but for the moment, it works for my needs and requirements.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is stable in my experience.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

For us, VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is working really well. It can be scalable as we need it and we did not have any problems so far.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is excellent. We have a dedicated team to support our needs, so in our case, we did not have any problems. I will give the customer support a nine.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We were not using a tool before VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth.

    How was the initial setup?

We had a long history of working with VMware, so this was the tool we evaluated and we decided to go with it.

    What about the implementation team?

I acquired VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth directly through VMware.

    What was our ROI?

I did not take part in those discussions, so I am not sure about the metrics, but I can say that in my experience, we saved money on using VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth, money that would have been spent in the cloud and now we reduce the load and the cost of the clouds. For me it was an improvement for us.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We were not using a tool before VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth.

What other advice do I have?

VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is a very good product. It helps me to improve the management and the overview of the cloud loads and it fulfills all my needs.

VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth gives better help and good advice on governance and security topics. I have not used it that much yet, but it will be something I will definitely be testing and going deep into it.

The tests I tried were good enough to be used in a production environment.

I recommend VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth. I will tell them to test it if it will be sufficient for their needs, but I definitely recommend it. I would rate this review a nine overall.
