Try this product free for 5 days according to the free trial terms set by the vendor. Usage-based pricing is in effect for usage beyond the free trial terms. Your free trial gets automatically converted to a paid subscription when the trial ends, but may be canceled any time before that.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for this Ubuntu Desktop image, with billing tied to the AWS ARM-based instance type you run. Each dimension maps to a specific ARM instance size, from small shared-CPU types up to bare metal configurations. Larger instances carry more compute, memory, or storage, so the hourly rate scales with the instance you choose. The software cost applies on top of standard AWS infrastructure charges. There are no tiers or feature levels here. You select the instance that fits your workload, and pricing follows that hardware choice.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly software charge on each instance type?
You get the Ubuntu Desktop 22.04 LTS image with web and RDP access, running on the ARM instance you pick. Each dimension maps to one ARM instance size. The software charge covers that image only. AWS bills the underlying compute, memory, and storage of the instance separately.
Am I charged the hourly software fee when the instance is stopped?
The software fee meters running hours. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay AWS for attached storage on a stopped instance, but the software licence counts running time only.
How does my bill change if I move to a larger ARM instance?
The hourly software rate is tied to the specific instance type you launch. Switching to a larger ARM instance changes the rate for the hours you run it. There is no automatic upgrade; you choose the instance when you launch, and billing follows that choice.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources.
