You pay by the hour for a preconfigured machine image that runs Keycloak with MySQL on Ubuntu 24.04. The software itself carries no separate charge here; your rate depends only on which EC2 instance type you launch. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size and family, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, and network capacity you select. Smaller shared-core types like t2 and t3a suit light workloads, while larger m-family and metal instances handle heavier demand. You pick one instance type and pay for the hours it runs, with no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing actually cover on this listing?
One hour covers the running time of a single EC2 instance built from the machine image. That image bundles Keycloak, MySQL, and Ubuntu 24.04. You pay for each hour the instance runs, tied to the instance type you launched. Stopping the instance halts the software hourly charge.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software hourly rate meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. You may still owe underlying AWS fees for attached storage and other resources while the instance is stopped. Restarting the instance resumes the hourly software charge.
Why do the hourly rates differ so much across the instance types listed?
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type. Larger families and sizes provide more processor cores, memory, and network capacity, so their hourly rate is higher. Shared-core t2 and t3a types cost less per hour than m-family or metal instances. You choose the type that fits your workload.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources.
