Notes
WAF log storage option and Log Intelligence Option, which are listed in the pricing dimensions, are not available for now (will be released soon).
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay based on usage across several combined dimensions. A base hourly charge applies for running the service. You also pay per Web ACL you configure, pro-rated by the hour. Request processing is billed per 1 million requests across four volume tiers, so cost scales with traffic. Tier 1 covers lower request volumes, and Tiers 2 through 4 cover progressively higher ranges. Two add-ons bill separately: WAF log storage above 1 million lines, charged per 1 million lines pro-rated daily, and the Log Intelligence Option, charged hourly.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one Web ACL for billing under the configured Web ACL charge?
A Web ACL is a single AWS WAF configuration you register in the WafCharm dashboard. Each Web ACL you connect to WafCharm is counted and billed, pro-rated by the hour. If you protect multiple web applications with separate Web ACLs, each one adds to your charge.
How does request volume move between the four pricing tiers as my traffic grows?
Requests are billed per 1 million across four volume ranges. Tier 1 covers 10M–100M, Tier 2 covers 100M–3B, Tier 3 covers 3B–10B, and Tier 4 covers volume above 10B. As traffic rises, requests fill each range in sequence, so only volume within a given tier is billed at that tier's rate.
How do the separate charges combine into one bill each month?
All charges add together and appear on your AWS monthly bill. You pay the base hourly charge, the per Web ACL charge, and per-million request charges across the tiers. The WAF log storage and Log Intelligence Option charges bill independently on top. High request volume usually drives the largest portion.
