Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

This version is up-to-date with the latest patches as of 12/19/2024 and adopts a revised naming convention for CIQ internal use of the underlying AMI; this change has no impact on the way it is consumed or used in your environment.

Usage instructions
Connect to the instance using SSH. Use the following information to connect to the instance:
User: rocky IP address: use the public IP address of the instance
For example: $ ssh -i ./ssh-key-yyyy-mm-dd.key rocky@IPAddress
When you are logged in as the rocky user, you can use the sudo command to run administrative tasks. The firewall is enabled by default with only port 22 open.

This Rocky Linux AMI provided by CIQ includes access to repositories for dnf/rpm updates and is regularly refreshed. Management of the operating system, once deployed, is the responsibility of the purchaser unless you have purchased a separate enterprise support agreement from CIQ.
