You pay by the hour for a pre-configured virtual machine image running on Windows Server 2019, bundled with Lucee, CommandBox, and ContentBox 6.0. Pricing is not tiered by feature set. Instead, you choose an AWS EC2 instance type, and your hourly rate follows that instance's size and compute capacity. Options span many families, from small burstable instances to memory-optimized, compute-optimized, storage-optimized, GPU, and high-memory bare-metal machines. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware carry higher hourly rates. You pay only for the hours each instance runs, so cost scales with usage.

One unit is one hour that a single EC2 instance runs the pre-configured image. The image bundles Windows Server 2019 with Lucee, CommandBox, and ContentBox 6.0. You pick one instance type, and each hour it runs counts as one billed hour at that instance's hourly rate.
The software charge meters running hours only. When you stop or power off the instance, hourly software charges do not accrue. Underlying AWS storage fees for the disk may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from the per-hour software rate.
Your rate follows the instance you choose. Each EC2 instance type maps to its own hourly price based on CPU, memory, and specialized hardware. Moving to an instance with more compute, memory, or a GPU raises the hourly rate. You pay that new rate for every hour the instance runs.

Click the continue to subscribe button 3. Click launch a new instance 4. The default instance and AWS free tier selected is t3.micro. We suggest c4.xlarge. Select Next: Configure Instance Details. 5. Click the "Next: Add Storage" button. 6. You are now on the "Add Storage" page. Next: Add Tags." 7. Click the add Tag. They should be Key equals Name and Value equals Ortus Lucee CFML engine 5.3.9.141 (Windows 2019). Click "Next: Configure Security Group." 8. Go to the source column and select MyIP so that ssh will only be enabled for your IP address (VERY IMPORTANT). At the type, column select HTTP and leave port 80 selected. 9. Create a new key pair and put it in a folder that you have access to. 10. Click the button labeled "View Instances." 11. Select your running instance. Look for "Public DNS (IPv4)," copy it and paste it in a browser. The Image comes with CommandBox CLI installed.
