Overview
AppCheck ScanHub brings AppCheck's enterprise vulnerability scanning platform to AWS. Deploy a fully self-contained scanning hub to discover, assess, and report on vulnerabilities across your infrastructure - with the same scanning engine used in AppCheck's bare-metal appliances, now available as an AWS AMI for rapid cloud deployment.
Highlights
- Enterprise-grade vulnerability scanning - deploy AppCheck's proven scanning engine on AWS in minutes, with automated infrastructure and web application vulnerability discovery.
- Self-contained, fully managed hub includes web GUI, scan orchestration, and vulnerability database out of the box, with automatic updates so you're always running the latest checks.
- Same engine, cloud-native deployment built on the same core scanning technology as AppCheck's on-premises appliances, giving consistent results whether you scan on-prem or in AWS.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
Version release notes
This release reverts to a streamlined Ubuntu 22.04-based architecture with Salt and Docker for software management, replacing the firmware-based update mechanism used in interim builds. This approach aligns AWS deployment with AppCheck's existing Azure and GCP cloud offerings, providing consistent, reliable automatic updates. No customer action is required - existing deployment and licensing workflows are unchanged.

Usage instructions
Access the ScanHub web interface at https://<instance-public-ip>:8080. Allow 2-3 minutes for initial boot and service startup. Your browser will show a certificate warning on first connection - this is expected, as ScanHub uses a self-signed certificate. Accept the warning to proceed. On first login, you will be prompted to enter your AppCheck license key to activate the instance. Once activated, the instance will automatically connect to AppCheck's licensing and management infrastructure to complete setup. For SSH access, connect as the ubuntu user using the key pair specified at launch: ssh -i your-key.pem ubuntu@<instance-public-ip> Ensure your security group allows inbound access on port 8080 (HTTPS web interface) and port 22 (SSH) from your administrative IP range(s)
