Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so your rate scales with the compute capacity you choose. The t2, t3, and t3a families cover general-purpose workloads at sizes from medium through 2xlarge. The m3 and m4 families offer larger options, including m4.4xlarge, m4.10xlarge, and m4.16xlarge for heavier demands. You select the instance that fits your needs, and billing accrues only while the instance runs. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates than smaller ones in the same family.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance of a specific type, billed per hour of runtime. For example, the m4.large dimension charges for each hour an m4.large instance runs. You pick the instance size that matches your workload, and the hourly rate reflects that instance's compute capacity.
Software charges accrue only while the instance runs. If you stop or power off the instance, the hourly software fee stops. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are billed by AWS, not by this software metering.
The hourly rate covers running the software on your chosen EC2 instance. The vendor also offers tiered enterprise support plans with troubleshooting, 24×7 availability, and a dedicated account manager. After deployment, you can access your application at http://<public IP>. (It might take up to 15 minutes to be available post-deployment). The machine is accessible via SSH, default username: ubuntu. Where relevant, app login credentials are available on message of the day (and /etc/motd).
