Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. The 22 dimensions map to specific instance types across two families: the t-series (t2, t3, t3a) and the m-series (m3, m4). Within each family, prices scale with instance capacity, from medium up through larger sizes like 2xlarge, 4xlarge, and 16xlarge. You choose the instance that fits your workload, and billing follows how many hours you run it. Each hourly rate covers the software running on that instance size. No upfront commitment applies under this usage-based model.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate for each instance type actually cover?
Each hourly rate covers the Next.js software running on that specific EC2 instance size, plus the security and support Hossted layers on top. The rate scales with instance capacity. You pay only for hours the instance runs, with no upfront commitment under this usage-based model.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or powered off?
Software charges meter running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Underlying AWS storage or other AWS resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but the Hossted software rate bills active running time.
What support is included with the hourly software charge?
Hossted provides applicative support for open-source software, including troubleshooting, usage and adaptation guidance, and 24/7 availability. Support tiers with defined response times exist but are arranged separately with the vendor. Contact Hossted to confirm which support level applies to your deployment.
