WAPT Cloud Engine is a load generating unit for WAPT Cloud and WAPT Pro load testing tools. These solutions provide an easy-to-use and cost-effective way to test any web site, including business applications, mobile sites, web portals, ecommerce solutions, etc.
WAPT Cloud instance lets you record and design tests, manage test execution and analyze the results. It also lets you run smoke tests with up to 250 virtual users. However if you need a higher test volume, you should use additional Cloud Engine instances for this purpose.
You can add a new Cloud Engine to your testing environment very easily. Just launch a new instance and add its IP address to the list of engines inside the WAPT Cloud workplace (on the Load Engines page in the product GUI). You do not need to connect to the engine with the Remote Desktop unless you want to change the default configuration. So, even if you need several engines to run the test, the whole system can be configured in a matter of minutes.

This engine is a load-generating unit sized for 5,000 concurrent virtual users. You can add more engine instances to raise the total load. The vendor notes that combined engines can reach up to 1 million users. Pick a compute configuration that matches this capacity.
Am I charged when the engine instance is stopped or not running a test?
You pay the hourly software rate only while an instance runs. The vendor states you are billed only for the time each instance runs. Stopped instances stop the software charge. Underlying AWS storage or infrastructure fees may still apply separately and are not part of this software price.
Does this hourly price cover the AWS compute costs too?
No. This hourly rate covers the software only. AWS charges its own fees for the instance you launch and for network traffic. The vendor notes these provider fees depend on the instance and traffic, and typically stay under a few dollars per hour even for productive instances.

After launching the instance get its IP address from the EC2 console.
In WAPT Cloud select the "Load Engines" page in the left view.
Click the "Add" button in the right view.
Enter the engine IP address in the dialog and click "OK".
Put a checkmark near the engine to use it for running tests.

What do you like best about the product?
Simulating load with a real-time user journey, including all API calls in sequence from login, through all actions, to logout, is easier. Additionally, we can record and capture the user journey to simulate any real-time load scenario.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Pro license is very expensive, and we have a limitation that allows us to use a maximum of 2 load engines. If we want to maintain a very high load, we might encounter some infrastructure issues like port exhaustion, etc., as we will place the load engine on a different server and the WAPT Pro tool on one server.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simulating load for a real-time user journey with different sets of data, looping API calls with random values may not be possible with JMeter or other tools in the market.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of it is that it let the user to test their application in a very comfortable manner. I use the testing of my own created websites for my personal uses.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface of this site is not that interactive and comfortable. The site sometimes perform the operations very slowly and does not respond affirmatively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The site is best to use and to test the web application. I use to get the check for my website. Yes the site is productive as it let the user to test in the real time frame.
