Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, and storage you select. General-purpose (a1, m6g, m6gd, t4g), compute-optimized (c6g, c6gd, c6gn, c7g), memory-optimized (r6g, r6gd, x2gd), storage-optimized (im4gn, is4gen), and graphics (g5g) families are all available. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates. No upfront commitment applies; you are charged only for the hours you run.

Each hourly unit covers the CentOS GUI Linux software running on one ARM64-based Amazon EC2 instance. You get a CentOS Stream 9 or version 8 desktop with a remote desktop environment, a shell with auto-completion, a code editor, and a web browser. The rate matches the instance size you launch.
The software fee meters running hours only. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge stops accruing. Underlying AWS storage fees for the volume may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from the software charge shown here.

Login to instance using SSH via key based authentication. Use "centos" as userid (refer https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/putty.html for details on how to connect using putty/ssh)

Once connected using ssh/putty, run below command to set the password for "centos" user on the terminal
sudo passwd centos

Once the password is set for centos user, from your local windows machine, goto start menu. On the start menu, search & select "remote desktop connection". In the "remote desktop connection" wizard, provide public IP of your instance & click connect.

In the displayed window, provide "centos" as userid & password set in step 2 above.

Now you are connected to the desktop environment of the VM where you can access out of box CentOS Linux GUI environment.
