Overview
cPacket's cStor-V is a multi-cloud packet capture solution with highly-scalable storage, enabling new troubleshooting capabilities, forensic investigations, data compliance use cases and even DDoS detection. Powerful network and security analytics derived from network packets deliver key performance indicators such as latency performance, jitter, protocol analytics, and key TCP metrics (retransmissions, zero-window sessions, top talkers, and more).
Use AWS VPC Traffic Mirroring features to mirror passive EC2 network traffic directly to cStor-V for a robust and easy to deploy cloud packet capture and analytics solution.
-Run continuous packet captures for critical workloads with multiple Gbps capture capabilities or temporarily deploy a cStor-V instance for on-demand capture and troubleshooting scenarios
-Store network packets and view PCAP files via a native Wireshark integration
-View cloud network analytics including key protocols, latency performance, jitter measurement, retransmissions, DDoS indicators, and zero window sessions
-Easily add additional disk volumes for scalable PCAP storage using EBS volumes
-Utilize historical network packet captures for security, performance management, and complying with regulatory requirements
Highlights
- CONTINUOUS & ON DEMAND PACKET CAPTURE - Continuously capture packets from critical AWS workloads and review PCAP traces via native Wireshark integration or using the available REST API. Easily standup cStor-V instances for on-demand packet capture scenarios. Quickly index keywords or search criteria for your AWS deployment.
- ENTERPRISE GRADE NETWORK ANALYTICS - Advanced network analytics capabilities enable NetOps and Security teams to quickly troubleshoot network issues, identify security incidents, or examine critical network protocol performance (TCP, UDP, SSL). View detailed session-based analytics and flows leveraging packet-grade analytics.
- SCALABLE PCAP STORAGE - Leverage native EC2 volumes for easily accessible and secure PCAP retrieval. Address scaling needs with multiple cStor-V instances or by increasing disk volumes.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Once the instance is running, please allow up to 10 minutes for the boot process to complete. After 10 minutes has elapsed, if the instance has a public IP allocated navigate to https://<insert-ec2-public-ip> to login to the management user interface.
If the instance does not have a public IP allocated, the user interface can be accessed by navigating to https://<insert-ec2-private-ip>. Please be aware that pre-existing connectivity to the subnet specified during the EC2 deployment process will be required when using the private IP endpoint.
Upon accessing the management user interface, users can use the following credentials to login: Username: cpacket Password: <insert-instance-id>
