AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This contract pricing has two dimensions that work together. The Production unit covers the base hosted service for running healthcare applications on managed cloud infrastructure. The Additional usage unit adds platform capacity on top of that base. You start with Production and scale by adding usage units as your workload grows. Both are billed under a contract term, so you commit to a set quantity. The two dimensions are not tiers; the Additional usage dimension supplements the Production service rather than replacing it.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the Production dimension actually include as a hosted service?
Production covers the managed hosted platform for running healthcare applications on cloud infrastructure. The vendor handles managed infrastructure, automated upgrades, security monitoring, backups, disaster recovery, and uptime management. It is recommended for production applications, such as treating patients or conducting research, rather than for prototyping or learning.
When would I need to buy Additional usage units on top of Production?
You add Additional usage units when your workload grows beyond what the base Production service covers. These units supplement platform capacity for higher-volume or integration-heavy activity. Both charges apply together on the same contract. Production sets your base, and Additional usage scales it as demand increases.
Does this hosted service require me to run any infrastructure myself?
No. The Production hosted service runs on managed cloud infrastructure that the vendor operates. It includes managed infrastructure, automated upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery, so you avoid running the platform yourself. This differs from self-hosting, where you would deploy and maintain the software on your own infrastructure.
