Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for this hardened CentOS Stream 9 machine image. Pricing follows the EC2 instance type you choose to run it on. Each dimension maps to one specific instance size, and the hourly software rate scales with the size and capacity of that instance. Smaller instances like t2.nano and t3.micro carry lower hourly rates, while larger compute, memory, storage, GPU, and bare-metal instances such as u-24tb1.metal or p4d.24xlarge cost more per hour. You select the instance that fits your workload, and billing tracks actual running hours with no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each dimension bills the software running on one EC2 instance of that specific type, charged per running hour. For example, the r5.large rate covers one r5.large instance. The rate reflects that instance's size and capacity. You pay separately for each instance you launch.
The software rate meters running hours only. A stopped or terminated instance stops accruing the software charge. Underlying AWS storage or other AWS resource fees may still apply while an instance is stopped, but those are separate from this hourly software charge.
This is usage-based with no upfront commitment. You pay only for the hours each instance runs, then stop charges by stopping the instance. This suits variable or short-lived workloads where you scale instances up and down as needed.
