Public Registry
EIDR serves as a public registry by offering a standardized identification system for audiovisual content, maintaining a comprehensive database of metadata, and enabling global access and integration with industry systems. Its openness and collaborative nature make it a valuable resource for the entertainment industry. The EIDR registry is publicly accessible, meaning anyone can access the registry and search for information about specific audiovisual works. This open access allows stakeholders in the entertainment industry, including content creators, distributors, broadcasters, and digital platforms, to easily identify and reference specific works. Automation and bulk processing are not a part of the free service. Individual EIDR IDs are resolvable here.
If you are enabling subscription verification for your products, you may elect to indicate the information

About EIDR
EIDR (Entertainment ID Registry) is a unique identifier system for audio and video content, designed to provide a standard way of identifying and tracking works across the media supply chain. EIDR is an open, non-profit, industry-funded organization that assigns unique identifiers to movies, TV shows, and other audiovisual works, as well as the associated video assets (e.g., trailers, clips, and extras). The EIDR system generates a unique identifier, which is stored in a central registry and linked to metadata describing the work, such as its title, creators, and distribution channels. This identifier can be used to track the distribution and consumption of the work across multiple platforms, including digital distribution, broadcast, and physical media. The EIDR system is used by a range of companies in the media industry, including studios, distributors, broadcasters, and digital service providers. By providing a standardized way of identifying and tracking content, EIDR aims to streamline the media supply chain, reduce errors and redundancies, and improve the accuracy and efficiency of content management and distribution.

Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the free Product Access unit give me?
The unit grants entry to a testing environment, letting you explore the registry's API, user interface, and services. You can look up records by their identifier and evaluate how the identification system works before signing any agreement.
Am I charged if I create records or make API calls during the free sample?
No. This listing is free, so no usage charges apply. The registry does not add per-record fees or API rate charges in this sample. It is meant for evaluation, letting you test lookups and integration workflows at no cost.
Does the free sample include searching the full registry without an identifier?
Free access covers looking up a record when you already have its identifier. Searching the registry without an identifier normally requires a login. More extensive query and programmatic search capability is described as a separately priced service, not part of this free sample.
