You pay by the hour for the Amazon EC2 instance you choose to run this pre-built WordPress with OpenLiteSpeed image. Pricing is not tiered by features. Every instance runs the same software. Your hourly rate is set by the instance type you select. These range from small, low-resource options like t2.nano and t3.micro to large compute, memory, storage, and GPU instances such as m6a.48xlarge, u-24tb1.metal, and p4d.24xlarge. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware cost more per hour. You scale cost by matching the instance size to your workload needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get when I select an hourly instance like t3.medium or m6a.48xlarge?
You get one running Amazon EC2 virtual machine with the pre-built WordPress and OpenLiteSpeed image installed. The instance type sets your CPU, memory, storage, and any GPU. Each running instance bills per hour based on that type. The software itself is identical across all instance choices.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when my instance is stopped?
The hourly software charge applies only while the instance is running. When you stop the instance, the software rate stops accruing. Standard AWS storage fees for the attached volumes may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from this software charge.
If I move to a larger instance type later, does my rate change automatically?
Yes. Your hourly rate follows the instance type currently running. If you switch to a type with more CPU, memory, storage, or GPU, the new hourly rate applies once that instance runs. If you move to a smaller type, the lower rate applies. You control cost by matching the type to your workload.
