You pay by the hour for a preconfigured image that runs Keycloak with a MySQL database on Amazon Linux 2023. Pricing is charged per running instance hour, so your cost scales with how long you keep the instance running. The many options here are not feature tiers. Each one maps to a specific EC2 instance type, differing by processor family, memory, storage, and networking capacity. Smaller shared-CPU types like t3 and t2 suit light workloads, while larger m-series and metal types serve heavier demand. Pick the instance size that fits your compute needs; the software stack stays the same.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get when I run one of these hourly instances?
You get a preconfigured image with Keycloak and a MySQL database on Amazon Linux 2023. Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type. You are charged per running instance hour for the software, based on the instance size you launch.
Am I charged when I stop or pause the instance?
The hourly software charge meters running time only. When you fully stop an instance, the per-hour software charge stops accruing. Underlying AWS storage fees for the attached disk may still apply while the instance is stopped, since that storage remains provisioned.
Does picking a larger instance type change the Keycloak software or add features?
No. The software stack stays the same across all instance types. Larger types give more processor, memory, storage, and networking capacity. Your hourly rate changes with the instance size you choose, but the Keycloak and MySQL configuration does not change.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources.
