Circulation includes inventory management; patron record management (i.e., batch editing, batch importing, batch deleting, and patron image importing); offline circulation; holds management; call slip support; fines/fees management; circulation policy management (branch policy ownership within a shared union catalog); course reserves; ILL request management; checkin/checkout; library calendar management; circulation messaging management; intra-library loan management; multiple-type circulation policy management (term loan limits, loan limits managed by hourly increments, and loan limits managed by minute increments; patron record ownership by individual library within a shared union catalog: Standard Interchange Protocol, Version2 (SIP2) authentication support; and NISO Circulation Interchange Protocol (NCIP) support. Cataloging (cataloging editor) including MARC-based editor for bibliographic records, holdings records, and authority records; authority control management for multiple thesauri; batch record editing; item record editor (including batch creation, batch editing, and batch deleting); item status management (including control of item record fields); cataloging template support for bibliographic/holdings/authority records; MARC21 validation rule support; local cataloging rule(s) support; Z39 search and import; batch import (including matching rule support, digital object ingest, and batch edit import); import/export script factory (for converting non-MARC import files into MARC); Dublin Core to MARC import/export conversion support: catalog record historical modification logging; MARC field linking to LC Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, Second Edition (AACR2) rules; clone record support; cataloging record staging area prior to database inclusion; bibliographic record ownership by individual library within a shared union catalog; item record ownership by individual library within a shared union catalog; transliteration support for over 100 languages; and support for multiple classification schema. Item Management includes the item editor, the custom status manager, the batch item editor, and the item field manager. Libraries have complete control over managing and describing their items using these tools. Libraries can create as many site-specific item fields as necessary. They can determine which item fields to display in the DL and which to display to staff, which fields are mandatory for record saving, and how many items are required per bibliographic record. Libraries can also create custom statuses for their items which can then be governed by special circulation policies which also determine suppression or display in the DL. Libraries also create and manage as many item types as necessary, and each item type can be controlled by different circulation policies. Item data is captured in the MARC 949 field for export.
