You pay by the hour for a preconfigured image running Apache Tomcat 11 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Pricing is not tiered by features. Instead, you pick an EC2 instance type, and the hourly software rate follows that choice. The list spans many instance families, including t2, t3, t3a, m4, m5, m5a, m5d, m5ad, m5n, m5dn, m5zn, m6a, m6i, m6id, m6in, m6idn, m7a, m7i, and m7i-flex. Sizes range from nano and micro up to large metal instances. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. You add standard AWS infrastructure charges separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of the hourly rate actually cover on this listing?
You pay for one running EC2 instance of your chosen type. The hourly software fee covers the preconfigured Apache Tomcat 11 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS image. It is metered per hour while the instance runs. The rate maps directly to the instance type you select at launch.
Am I charged the software fee when I stop or power off the instance?
The software fee meters running time only. A stopped or powered-off instance stops accruing the hourly software charge. Standard AWS charges, such as storage for attached volumes, can still apply while the instance is stopped. Billing resumes when you start the instance again.
Why do rates differ across instance types, and how do I control my cost?
There are no feature tiers. The hourly rate tracks the EC2 instance type you pick. Smaller sizes like nano and micro carry lower rates; larger sizes and metal instances carry higher rates. You control cost by choosing an instance size that fits your workload. AWS infrastructure charges are billed separately.
