Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for STIG Compliant Oracle Linux 8, based on the AWS EC2 instance type you run. Your rate scales with the instance's size and capacity, so larger instances cost more per hour. You are not locked into one size; you pick the instance that fits your workload and pay only for the hours it runs. The hardened operating system image stays the same across every instance choice.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the chosen type, billed per hour. The rate covers the hardened Oracle Linux 8 software image running on that single instance. Larger instance types carry higher hourly rates. You are billed for each instance you launch, counted separately.
The hourly software charge applies while an instance runs. A stopped or fully powered-off instance does not accrue the software rate. Underlying AWS storage or other AWS resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but the hardened image charge meters running hours only.
