AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance size you run Rancher on, with no upfront commitment. The 21 dimensions all represent different Amazon EC2 instance types, so your cost scales with the compute capacity you choose. Options span several instance families: compute-optimized (c5, c4, c3), memory-optimized (r5, r4, r3), general-purpose (m5, m4, m3), and burstable (t3, t2) in sizes from nano to 2xlarge. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. You select one instance type to match your workload needs, and billing follows actual usage hours.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit map to when I run Rancher on an EC2 instance?
One unit equals one hour that your chosen EC2 instance runs. The instance type you pick, such as m5.large or t3.micro, sets the compute and memory capacity. You run one instance type at a time, and each running hour counts toward your bill.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when my instance is stopped?
The hourly software rate meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue the software charge. Underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes may still apply while the instance sits stopped, but those are separate from this listing's hourly software charge.
What is included beyond the software, and does this cover cluster setup or ongoing Kubernetes maintenance?
The hourly rate covers the Rancher software and maintenance support on the running instance. Hands-on cluster design, migration, and 24/7 managed cluster monitoring are consulting services the vendor offers separately. Contact the vendor for those engagements, as they fall outside the hourly instance charge.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
