gdotv Team: Graph Database Workbench for Amazon Neptune, Neo4j and more
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you deploy gdotv Team onto. The eight dimensions map to two instance families: t3 sizes (medium, large, xlarge, 2xlarge) and m5 sizes (large, xlarge, 2xlarge, 4xlarge). Larger sizes carry more vCPU and memory and bill at higher hourly rates. You are charged only while an instance runs, metered through your cloud account. Billing is usage-based with no fixed term. Pick the size that fits your team, then scale up or down by changing the instance you run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as a billable unit for this hourly pricing?
You pay per vCPU-hour based on the EC2 instance that runs gdotv Team. Each instance size carries a set number of vCPUs. You are charged only while an instance runs, metered through your cloud account. There are no separate per-user or per-seat license charges.
Am I charged when the deployment is stopped or idle?
Charges apply only while a gdotv Team instance is running. If you stop the instance, software metering stops. Note that underlying AWS storage for a stopped instance may still accrue separately. The gdotv software bills running time only, with no additional licensing costs.
How many users can share one instance, and does adding users raise my bill?
Your bill tracks the instance size and running time, not the number of users. One deployment supports unlimited users. The default recommended instance size suits teams of 5 to 15 people. Adding more users does not change your rate; you only pay more if you run a larger instance.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

IMPORTANT - EXISTING CUSTOMERS (2026 versions):
The MCP server and live refresh need this AMI version. Running "sudo gdotv-upgrade 3.88.151" on an existing instance updates the gdotv application, but not the web proxy and Keycloak configuration these features depend on. To get them, launch a new instance from this version and move your data and your team's accounts across: https://gdotv.com/docs/aws-marketplace/#performing-an-ami-update
IMPORTANT - EXISTING CUSTOMERS (pre-2026 versions):
This appliance generation does not support in-place upgrade from pre-2026 versions: launch a new instance and migrate your data with the built-in gdotv-migrate-import tool. Migration guide: https://gdotv.com/docs/aws-marketplace/#migrating-from-a-legacy-ami-instance
First boot takes approximately 3 minutes after the instance starts. Then open https://<instance-public-hostname>/ (self-signed certificate warning is expected) and log in as user "gdotv" with the EC2 INSTANCE ID (e.g. i-0123456789abcdef0) as the initial password. You will be required to set a new password at first login. All generated credentials are also stored on the instance in /opt/gdotv/.env.
The full sign-in details (URL, username, initial password) are also printed to the instance's system log once the stack is up (EC2 console: Actions > Monitor and troubleshoot > Get system log).
IMPORTANT: containers on the instance must be able to reach the EC2 instance metadata service for AWS Marketplace license verification. If you customize metadata options, keep HttpPutResponseHopLimit=2 (IMDSv2 HttpTokens=required is supported): aws ec2 modify-instance-metadata-options --instance-id <id> --http-put-response-hop-limit 2 --http-tokens required
Ongoing connections: the software contacts public.ecr.aws only when you run the gdotv-upgrade command to fetch a newer application version; gdotv initiates no other outbound connections.
Existing customers on pre-2026 versions: this is a new appliance generation. Launch a new instance and migrate your data with the built-in gdotv-migrate-import tool (see the guide above). In-place upgrade is not supported.
You can contact us at support@gdotv.com for help in setting up your gdotv deployment.
