You pay by the hour for each running instance, and billing stops when you stop the instance. Every dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, so the pricing you pick follows the compute size you deploy. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates, and smaller sizes cost less per hour. Instance families group different balances of compute, memory, storage, and network capacity. This means you choose the instance type that fits your workload, and your hourly charge scales with the size and family you select. Vendor support is included with the running instance.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What am I actually paying for with the hourly rate on each instance type?
The hourly rate covers the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS operating system image plus vendor support from Cloudfu. The image is patched and updated regularly, and 24/7 technical support is included. This software charge is separate from the underlying AWS EC2 compute cost for the instance you run.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped?
The hourly software charge meters running time. When you stop the instance, the hourly billing stops. A stopped instance may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for its attached volumes, but the Cloudfu software charge applies only while the instance runs.
How do I pick which instance dimension to run this on?
Each dimension maps to one AWS EC2 instance type. You select the type matching your workload's compute, memory, storage, and network needs. Instance families balance these resources differently. The hourly software charge is tied to the size and family you choose, so pick the type that fits your workload.
