Methodology: • Fieldwork for the UK Travel Council is conducted online bi-annually in April and October. Due to COVID-19 and lockdown measures, 20H1 fieldwork was moved to June/July 2020.
• In total 1,072 who have travelled abroad in the last 12 months were interviewed. Survey respondents form a representative sample of recent travellers. Survey respondents were split between prepaid travel card users and non-prepaid travel card users
• Basic quotas were applied to ensure that respondents are representative of recent travellers by age, gender, region, and income. Respondents must hold a minimum of one banking product with a financial institution in their local market to qualify for this survey
• Effects and impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the UK travel and travel payments sectors • UK consumer sentiment towards current and return to travel • Cash usage versus electronic payment methods when travelling (current behaviour and future intentions) • Travel Card usage (Pre-paid and non pre-paid) • Quarantine and travel corridor drivers and choice (by segment: Baby Boomers, GenX, Millennials) • Drivers and choice of payment methods used abroad (current behaviour and future intentions)
