Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing bills through a contract you set up with your DigiCert account team. You buy a committed quantity of TLS/SSL certificate units, arranged as a private offer. The Units dimension covers that contracted amount. The Overage (Units) dimension applies when your usage goes beyond the quantity in your contract. Overage units are charged separately so you can keep issuing certificates past your commitment. To start, you contact the DigiCert account team for pricing on your committed volume. Both dimensions measure the same unit, and together they let your certificate usage scale with demand.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one certificate unit for billing?
A unit maps to a single TLS/SSL certificate under your contract. Certificates authenticate a website's identity and encrypt data between browsers and servers. You choose validation levels like Organization Validated or Extended Validation. Multi-domain and wildcard options let one certificate cover several domains or subdomains, but each certificate still draws from your unit count.
What happens if my certificate usage exceeds my contracted quantity?
Once you use more units than your contract covers, the Overage (Units) dimension takes over. Overage units are billed separately from your committed amount. This lets you keep issuing certificates past your commitment without stopping. Both dimensions measure the same unit, so overage charges apply only to volume beyond your contract.
How do the two pricing dimensions combine on my invoice?
Your committed units bill through the contracted amount arranged as a private offer. The Overage (Units) dimension bills only when usage passes that commitment. They do not multiply. Your contracted units are covered first, then any extra usage adds overage charges on the same measured unit.
