Zimperium MTD Protects Enterprises Zimperium Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) - formerly known as zIPS - is a privacy-first application that provides comprehensive mobile security for enterprises. Zimperium MTD is designed to protect an employee's corporate-owned or BYO device from advanced persistent threats without sacrificing privacy or personal data.

Once deployed on a mobile device, Zimperium MTD begins protecting the device against all primary attack vectors, even when the device is not connected to a network. Zimperium reduces risk by analyzing risky apps and jailbreaks on the device before giving access to corporate email and apps.

Zimperium MTD - Truly Mobile-First Protection Zimperium MTD provides comprehensive protection for mobile devices. It provides the risk intelligence and forensic data necessary for security administrators to raise their mobile security confidence. As the mobile attack surface expands and evolves, so does Zimperium's dynamic on-device detection engine. Zimperium MTD detects across all four threat categories - device compromises, network attacks, phishing and content, and malicious apps.

With MTD, Incident Response teams finally have visibility into mobile threats and risks through integrations with leading UEM, SIEM, SOAR, and XDR systems. The unmatched forensics provided by Zimperum MTD prevent a compromised device from turning into an outbreak. By collecting forensic data on the device, network connections, and malicious applications, security operations teams are able to review forensics to minimize risk exposure.

What do you like best about the product?
Zimperium Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) is a reliable choice for securing mobile devices. Its on-device machine learning is capable of detecting threats in real time, even when the device is offline, and it safeguards against a variety of risks such as network attacks, phishing attempts, and malicious applications. One of its standout features is a privacy-first approach, which ensures that sensitive information stays on the device itself. Integration with our MDM/UEM and Zero Trust frameworks has been seamless, making it easy to incorporate into our existing security infrastructure. With capabilities like zero-day protection, offline threat detection, and compliance support, Zimperium MTD helps us stay ahead of mobile threats without introducing unnecessary complexity.

The implementation process with our MDM was straightforward, and their customer support ranks among the best vendor experiences I've had. They respond quickly and take full ownership of issues, never simply directing us back to documentation, but instead working with us until the problem is resolved.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I’m quite satisfied with Zimperium MTD as a whole. The majority of the issues we encounter aren’t actually due to Zimperium itself, but rather arise from the data within our MDM. If that data is outdated or inaccurate, it leads to confusion and inefficiencies, especially when we need to troubleshoot or examine a particular device. Therefore, the main difficulties we face are related to integration and data quality, rather than the product itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zimperium MTD addresses the significant challenge of protecting mobile devices from advanced threats such as phishing, malicious applications, and network attacks. For our organization, this means we can confidently permit mobile access to corporate resources without the constant concern of device compromise. The solution also aids in maintaining compliance and bolsters our Zero Trust strategy by providing real-time insight into device risk. What stands out most is the peace of mind it offers: threats are detected directly on the device, even when offline, ensuring sensitive data remains secure. In summary, it lowers our risk and makes managing mobile security far more straightforward.

Robust Mobile Security Platform with User-Friendly Management

    Reviewed on Nov 18, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I use Zimperium Mobile Threat Defense primarily for its robust protection against mobile threats, including phishing, malware, and malicious apps, which significantly enhances the overall security of mobile devices. I appreciate how the app is easy to manage and deploy, alleviating the burden on our Information Security and IT teams. The user-friendly interface and simplicity in navigation bolster user confidence and encourage active use. The provision of real-time threat logs is particularly valuable to our Information Security team, assisting in the assessment and identification of threat trends. Users often find the alerts for risky Wi-Fi networks extremely helpful, especially while traveling in unfamiliar locations, as it prevents them from connecting to potentially compromised networks. These features collectively contribute to a high level of user autonomy, enabling users to identify and resolve issues within the app independently. Furthermore, I’ve heard that the initial setup and configuration were relatively straightforward, which is a testament to the platform’s accessibility and ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Zimperium Mobile Threat Defense overly reliant on the Mobile Device Management (MDM) system to manage most of its features. This dependence makes it less flexible and requires additional configuration through MDM, which can be cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Zimperium Mobile Threat Defense to protect against mobile threats like phishing, malware, and malicious apps. It offers easy management, real-time threat logs, boosts user confidence, and prevents risky network connections while lessening the IT burden.
