Try this product free for 7 days according to the free trial terms set by the vendor. Usage-based pricing is in effect for usage beyond the free trial terms. Your free trial gets automatically converted to a paid subscription when the trial ends, but may be canceled any time before that.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the Movable Type software, billed per running EC2 instance. The listing offers one price across many arm64 (Graviton) instance types. These cover general-purpose (m-series, t4g), compute-optimized (c-series), and memory-optimized (r-series) families, in sizes from nano and medium up to 48xlarge and bare metal. Pick the instance that fits your workload; the hourly software rate is the same, while your separate AWS compute cost scales with the instance you select. EC2 and other AWS charges apply on top of this software fee.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get in the Amazon Machine Image, and what does the hourly rate cover?
The image comes with Movable Type pre-installed on Amazon Linux 2023, tuned with the web server, PSGI server, PHP, and database it needs. You can pick nginx or Apache at launch. The hourly rate covers only the Movable Type software licence, not the underlying EC2 compute.
Am I charged the software fee when my EC2 instance is stopped?
The software charge meters running instance-hours, so a fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software fee. Underlying AWS storage and other AWS charges may still apply while the instance is stopped. Billing resumes when you restart the instance.
Is technical support included in the hourly software price?
No. The hourly rate covers the Movable Type software licence only. Technical support is a separate purchase, bought per instance in use. If you need support, you buy a separate annual support licence directly from the vendor for each instance.
